Conservatives + (more conservative) People’s Party very very strong in Quebec’s Beauce riding.

Absolutely NOT.

If we allowed Alberta to become a state, we’d have no real argument against also allowing DC statehood (a disaster) and Puerto Rico statehood (a bigger disaster).

NO! NO!! NO!!!

Irony is that the electric car would require copious amounts of energy.

Yup!
Liberals just fell below 40%. It will get worse for them with the western vote.

I was going to add in my post that you don’t have to go all Don Cherry out there..., but Canadians already knew that.

Alberta actually brings something to the table, and you’d be hard pressed to find better people to make patriots. Comparing Alberta to those other places is an injustice.

DC can never be a state. At least not constitutionally. Puerto Rico is a legit worry. But if DC became a state we would have long since completely burned the Constitution.

I know. I know it’s already burning. I’m holding out hope.

Taking Alberta does not automatically mean taking Puerto Rico.

Also, DC will never become a state.

It would be great if Alberta could join the U.S. I’m sorry decent, productive Canadians have a wackadoodle leftist government that robs and abuses them.

As an Albertan at heart, I would NEVER want my beloved province to become a U.S. state.

As bad as Canada's government is, it's really quite dopey and powerless compared to the behemoth known as the U.S. Federal government.

If I am forced to choose between Washington and Ottawa, I'll take Calgary. :-)

They are coming for our guns. Choosing HQ is a small matter at this point. This is the hill many of us die on. Alberta being a part of the US comes with issues too, but we do get the constitution and thousands upon thousands of us would defend it with our lives.

Just a note: in BC, the “LiEberal Party” is the largest semi-right wing group, and they have absolutely NOTHING in common with the federal Libs.

BC actually went further left by voting NDP in the last provincial election, unlike the rest of the country.

NDP are well left of your demonrats.

They are coming for our guns.

Who?

The last time Canada had a mandatory gun registry there were MLAs in Alberta openly packing heat when they conducted business in the provincial capital -- daring the Chretien government to do something about it.

Nothing was ever done, and the gun registry quietly died.

Your military is incapable of anything more complicated than United Nations peacekeeping missions, and your national police force is an armed group of 19,000 RCMP officers that couldn't even fill the Molson Centre in Montreal for a Canadiens game.

It's a good thing Canadians are civilized ... because your country is (thankfully) ungovernable, dude.

Looks like Conservatives+ Bloc Québécois coalition can form a majority, the rest of the night disfavors the Liberals, who are unpopular in the west.

If Alberta had a secession referendum, would it pass?
