LA: Washington Parish Sheriff Cites Second Amendment, Leaves Democrat PartyLA: Washington Parish Sheriff Cites Second Amendment, Leaves Democrat Party

Arizona -(Ammoland.com)- In Louisiana, Sheriff Randy Seal has been in office for over seven years. After winning his latest election on 12 October 2019, he switched parties from Democrat to Republican. He said:

“The Democratic Party left me. I didn't leave them.”

His stated reasons for changing party affiliation were all about policies. Sheriff Seal specifically mentioned the Second Amendment.

From wdsu.com:

After years in politics in Washington Parish as a Democrat, Seal, and his wife Sheila, walked into the parish registrar of voters office Monday and changed parties. Both are now Republicans.

Seal said he waited until after his Election Day win to change his affiliation, and is now the Republican sheriff of Washington Parish.

“I don't like what's going on in Washington,” Seal said. “Don't care about abortion and Democrats support that. They are against the Second Amendment and I support the Second Amendment, and I am for closed borders. I think we ought to have rules. If we don't have rules, we have chaos.”

The October 12th election was the primary election in Louisiana. If a candidate wins more than 50% in the primary, they are elected and do not have to defend their office in the 16 November general election.  This was an off-year election in the primary. It drew record numbers of voters. The Republican party won a significant victory in the election.

If he had been paying close attention, he would have done this 30 years ago.

A lot of people don’t know that many democrats in the southeast are more conservative than many republicans in the northeast and west.

I suspect that Sheriff Seal is a Christian and finally decided that it is impossible to identify as a Christian and a Democrat. Also, perhaps he noticed there are more American flags displayed on the moon than have been visible thus far at the Democrat presidential debates. The Democrat party has become Godless and anti-American.

Better late than never Sheriff Seal.

If he had been a Republican and switched over to Democrat after the election, what would everyone here be saying.

I think he fooled the electorate and should stand for election again.

“If we don’t have rules, we have chaos.”

That’s a pretty important core value for the head of LAW ENFORCEMENT.

“A lot of people don’t know that many democrats in the southeast are more conservative than many republicans in the northeast and west.”

Many are actually good people who don’t realize their party has been taken over by communists. How there aren’t more that don’t see it, particularly now is beyond me. Perhaps I’m wrong.

That’s a valid point.

I will only say that there is no chance this man would have been elected Sheriff of Washington Parish if he was not as conservative as conservative gets.

Louisiana has some old school country Democrats who are not like their Communist counterparts.

However, James Carville is not one of them. That one is a serpent.

Yeah. I have some great friends who are die hard Dims I often tell my wife how can so and so possibly be a democrat?

A husband of one told us recently they read an article of homeless displaced by gentrification in San Fransicko. Her response? “ There go those damn Republicans again!”

Yeah, Like there are any Republicans in San Francisco. we had a good laugh over that one

Brainwashed.

A communist, actually. He's married to a Republican political advisor.

Don't forget about Paul Begala - another Southern commie.

After seven years as sheriff in a rural parish, do you seriously think the voters didn’t know what they were getting?

Please do not get me wrong. I am from East Texas, raised in Big Sandy, playing in the piney woods, and I was stationed in Ft Polk, LA. I know who they are.

But we would all be very angry if the shoe was on the other foot and rightly say that they defrauded the electorate. I am just saying he needs to do this in a more defensible way. As the Bible says, provide things honest in the sight of God and man.

I think it’s a valid point.

Switching parties after an election, in almost every conceivable case, does seem suspect, and could simply be a tactic.
