Rep. Jim Himes: Rudy Giuliani testimony key in Trump impeachment push
The Washington Times ^ | Sunday, October 20, 2019 | Gabriella Muñoz

Democratic Rep. Jim Himes said getting the president’s personal lawyer Rudolph W. Giuliani’s testimony would be a massive boon for the impeachment inquiry.

As a member of the House Intelligence committee, Mr. Himes believes the investigation can be done without Mr. Giuliani’s cooperation, but he remains at the “very core” of the allegations that the administration used military aid to leverage a foreign ally to investigate the Biden family.

“While I guess we could sort of piece together exactly what happened based on what the administration has disclosed, I really think it’s important to talk to Rudy Giuliani,” Mr. Himes said on CBS’ “Face the Nation” on Sunday.

On Tuesday, the former New York City mayor defied a Congressional subpoena to turn over documents related to the Ukraine investigation.

Mr. Giuliani has become one of the central figures in the impeachment inquiry, as he worked to push Ukraine to open an investigation into Vice President Joe Biden and his son, Hunter Biden.

Though the Connecticut Democrat floated the end of the year as the goal for wrapping up the investigation, he acknowledged there’s no hard date yet “because, of course, every single day we’re presented with sort of jaw dropping new information.”

He said the committee wants to look more into the decision to remove former Ambassador to Ukraine Marie Yovanovitch from her post and who knew about the delayed aid.

Mr. Himes also defended his party’s closed-door approach to the impeachment inquiry, comparing it — like other members of Democratic leadership have — to special prosector investigations into the Clinton and Nixon allegations.

I thought they were going to be done by Thanksgiving? This is the first I've heard of it going longer. I don't believe the dems will want to be doing impeachment on frivolous charges during an election year. I think they are banking on the short memories of voters. They will do any damage they can this year, then flip to policies next year. It may work for them. Just how many voters remember the shear hell they put us through for over two years on russiagate? It's just a distant memory for most.

And what impeachment inquiry is Hines talking about? All I see is secret meetings with secret people providing secret testimony subject to secret editing and resulting in a secret verdict. Voila! Impeachment! Just trust us...

It’s a kangaroo court.....

They went from "a source close to someone told us at the NYT that Trump violated the law" to the House declaring "All whistleblower identity and questions, answers and documentary evidence is totally secret. At the conclusion of the closed door hearings all testimony and evidence will be permanently classified secret and transferred to the National Archives."

”the allegations that the administration used military aid to leverage a foreign ally to investigate the Biden family”

So what? The Bidens are obviously guilty of crimes including bribery and money laundering, the President is the chief law enforcement officer of the United States, our courts have no authority in the Ukraine.

Trump was doing his job.

Sure. Interrogate a defendant’s attorney. Something that’s been against the law for over 2000 years, tracing back at least to the advocates ( attorneys) in the Roman republic and which has been established in Anglo- American law at least as far back as queen Elizabeth I. ...one who confides in an attorney should have no fear that his secrets will be exposed, United States v. Grand Jury Investigation, 401 F. Supp. 361, 369 (W.D. Pa. 1975)

Peruvian born and partly Colombian raised Himes should forget about his Dad's involvement with the UN and UNICEF and instead read the Constitution.

There is no impeachment inquiry until the majority of the full House votes for one.

BTW, I notice that many of these traitors have a similar background of being born and raised in another country by globalist parents.

Himes, Peter Strzok and Steve Kerr are three examples.

Someone might want to clue this Fascist clown on Guiliani’s prosecutor record He amassed a record of 4,152 convictions and 25 reversals.

I suspect this is one of the reasons the Democrat Fascists will not come out in the open on this. They know full well it would be like sticking their heads in a paper shredder.
