Mulvaney insists no quid pro quo with Ukraine after WH comments: ‘I didn’t say that’

Acting White House Chief of Staff Mick Mulvaney insists he did not admit to wrongdoing by President Trump after comments he made during a marathon press briefing Thursday were interpreted as evidence of a quid pro quo linking military aid to Ukraine with an investigation of potential Ukrainian involvement with Democrats during the 2016 election.

Democrats have accused Trump of temporarily delaying $391 million in aid in order to leverage Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky into helping the probe. Mulvaney seemed to indicate that the two were connected, but now he claims it was a misunderstanding.

“That’s what people are saying that I said, but I didn’t say that,” Mulvaney claimed on “Fox News Sunday,” insisting that his words were taken the wrong way.

Mulvaney acknowledged that President Trump had mentioned concern regarding Ukraine and the Democratic National Committee’s hacked server, “but it wasn’t connected to the aid.”

The confusion over whether or not Mulvaney had admitted to a quid pro quo stemmed from an exchange with ABC News reporter Jon Karl. …

Bull s***. I heard the words coming out of Mulvaney’s mouth. The question is, was there anything ILLEGAL about what the Trump admin did (or what Clown Car Joe and his more mentally sharp son did for that matter)?

Given that there was no hue and cry about supposed lawbreaking regarding the similar immigration Quid Pro Quo (TM) that Trump did with foreign aid to certain Central American countries, I would say no, in either case.

The administration needs to stop ALL press briefings and exchanges with the demonic reporters. If something needs to be broadcast, send them a written press release. No more back and forth. They twist, lie and misrepresent everything that is said anyway.

Just cut them off. No access to the Whitehouse, no briefings. Complete exclusion.

If I were the President, I would have a strict “we don’t talk to fake news” policy.

First of all.....We actually have a Treaty with Ukraine in regard to Corruption...signed by Bubba in 1998.

Secondly, we released the money unconditionally and before the expiration date. It's a tidy sum and we did not know if they would use it as intended. The new President of Ukraine ran his whole campaign on getting rid of corruption. To speak of it between the two nations is as it should be.

First thing they *need* to do is fire this guy.

Second thing they *need* to do is tell his replacement is don’t say squat about anything.

What a moron.

Or a mole.

As it is, since Trump wanted to investigate Ukrainian interference in the 2016 elections, not the Bidens — did that even really matter? —, this particular Quid Pro Quo (TM) is a big fat nothing burger.

Is quid pro quo a good thing or a bad thing? Because I remember Joe Biden bragging about making a deal with the Ukrainians to stop the investigation into his son’s dealings for the release of $1 billion in aid and Creepy Joe bragged about it like it was a good thing.

The communists Democrats have current control over the Republicans and twisted Mulvaneys words and meaning. The communists Democrats, all of them, will be hitting Trump hard for the next year and half. Trump is in trouble but still he will a second term. The hard hitting communists Democrats will continue the hit for Trumps entire tenure.

, the house when ever they get the nerve to vote will find President Trump guilty
Dead in the senate

If want a shock look up a press conference from the Obongo Admin. The respect and reverence shown is nauseating. No gothcha questions, no aggressive follow ups. A lot of what’s your favorite color questions.

I don’t understand why that isn’t talked about more. That means why they do not talk about that treaty. I do not see what the downside would be.

“I do not see what the downside would be.“

It would mean Trump was un-wrong.

Mulvaney bungling a news conference isn’t sworn on oath testimony before congress and words do get twisted and folks caught off guard. When it gets down to testimony before a senate or congressional committee then that is a different story. And given that it is ABC involved with its recent Turkey invades Kentucky video, this is nothing but a brouhaha having no substance.

Clinton was impeached over denying the meaning of the word “is.”

I guess the Democrat revenge is to impeach Trump over Mulvaney’s use of a pronoun.
