Trump should rename the party if he wins in2020..

Trump has exposed the GOP for what they are...useless.

Any ideas...

How about WPA.. Working Party of America..

The leftist might get confused and vote for it

Exactly. The “elite” just hate the serfs exercising some “power” of their own.

Damn those “deplorables.”

The article states that the President opposes immigration. I do not agree. The President opposes illegal immigration and what was (and still may be) an open southern border.

I am age 68.

When I was a kid, the GOP were called “Country Club Republicans. The Democrats were “the working man”.

I find it so interesting how the paradigm has totally flipped over between the two idiologies. We now have Lear Jet Liberals and the Deplorable working class.

Exactly why people like Bill Kristol are pissed - they don’t want the likes of the working Americans in their club.

As I see it the rats USED to be the party of working people until Clintons arrived and dismissed “deplorables” aka the “Forgotten” so Trump saw the gap and ran into it.

Hillary took the votes of the Forgotten for granted. This woman ruins whatever she touches.

The share of white GOP members with college degrees has dropped from 40 percent in 2012 down to 29 percent in 2018

Probably a misleading statistic. This does not necessarily mean that college indoctrinates have left the GOP. It may reflect an influx of non-college indoctrinates.

Suppose in 2012 there were only 100 members of the GOP, 40 of whom were college indoctrinates. Suppose in 2018, the same 40 college indoctrinates were still members of the GOP, but total GOP membership increased to 139. The 40 would then constitute 29% of total GOP membership.

I'm not saying that this is exactly what happened, but am suggesting that GOP college-indoctrinated membership probably did not decline by 27% (from 40% to 29%) in six years.

that’s because the educated are anything but in most cases anymore. If they were they would realize that more opportunities are opened to them because of President Trump. When the Democrats regain control they will see just has destructive the Democrat Party is to them.

The tendency of college graduates to be Democrats or RINOs is further proof that our university system is now self-destructive.

P.S. I was reading a story three weeks ago featuring a UAW shop steward who was lamenting the abandonment of the working class by the Democrats—but somehow this guy still believed that Democrats had the better message. I felt sorry for him—because he is living in the past. The Democrats left the Working Class after The Groper-in-Chief left the White House.

Tge USA doesn't need to increase its permanent underclass — which will happen, so long as politicians conflate legal, and illegal immigration. As Yang points out, A.I.-powered automation is a major, near-term threat to the working class. The need for low-skill illegal immigrants will soon disappear. Then what?

[This political transformation, however, means that U.S. college graduates have few friends in Washington, D.C., to protect their economic interests in a shifting economy. ]

That will change if he puts the kibosh on the H1-B bill, and starts *reducing* the total number of H1-B visas issued per year instead of merely lowering the approval rates. Since Obama, approval rates have gone down, but the total number of approvals has doubled for 2019, as documented both by the Times of India, and the Center for Immigration Studies, a immigration restrictionist think tank.

This is because the number of applications has perhaps tripled. It’s essentially a white collar version of the Great “Refugee” Border Rush at the US-Mexico border.

Democrats have been the old money party for many decades. The media kept that fact quiet and projected it onto the Republicans. Trump has been able to prove to so many the reality of their deceit.
