Surge of Mexican migrants is new challenge for Trump border crackdown

Mexico has been the largest source of migration to the United States for most of the past half-century. Under Trump, Central American families began crossing in record number, predominantly from Guatemala and Honduras, which Homeland Security officials blame on "loopholes" in U.S. laws that limit the government's ability to detain and rapidly deport migrant families seeking protection.

U.S. authorities took nearly one million migrants into custody during the 2019 fiscal year that ended Sept 30, including nearly 500,000 who arrived in family groups. Most of the Mexicans arrested at the border were single adults - often recent deportees caught trying to return to families and jobs in the United States.

Now who'd have thought incentivizing an enemy narco state to solve your own border problem for you wasn't going to work?

I would be my bottom dollar that Soros is spreading rumors in destitute Mexican towns that they can get into the U.S. That is why they are suddenly surging toward the border. He’s trying to make up for the decline in Central Americans.

Sorry, I find the NYT and Compost not believable in any of their articles. Even if the articles pass the Pinocchio test. I usually don’t finish reading anything they have to write.

Herd animals "migrate".

Humans immigrate.

This isn't migration. It's a non-military invasion.

They are walking on water and flying over the walls and surging into America.

It was his signature issue in 2016, so all efforts by demonrat’s were executed to make it a fail for 2020. Demonrat appointed judges, demonrat agitator organizations, demonrat media propaganda/cover, demonrat Soros money...full court press with little to ANY opposition/push-back by the cheap labor express traitors in his own party.

Illegal aliens are not just a challenge for Trump, of course, they are a challenge for every American.

This American thinks the better question is who put the
..."loopholes" in U.S. laws that limit the government's ability to detain and rapidly deport migrant families seeking protection.

Notice how the original question dodges the point? It is primarily illegals who may be falsely seeking protection and especially those who ignore asylum laws. People who ignore laws generally do present challenges

Yes, along with MAGA, 'Drain the Swamp', and jobs.

There's lots of grumbling on line from people who are angry the illegal immigration issue hasn't been taken care of.

There's a booming economy and Trump is putting conservative judges in place but if he doesn't make headway in stopping illegal immigration and immigration reform some people won't vote for him because they see him as yet another politician who said anything to get elected.

I'm not one of them but they're out there. Enough to lose the election for Trump? Who knows.

Let’s hope Pres. Trump puts the full package out there. This should be part of a Comprehensive Immigration Enforcement bill. The List of Comprehensive Immigration Enforcement, missing since 1987 goes like this -

1) southern barrier;
2) require eVerify to hire;
3) end all chain migration;
4) birthright per Minor v. Happersett (plural parents);
5) end work visas;
6) 10-year moratorium on all new applications for citizenship (40 years to allow workplace automation effects on downsizing population);
7) Set up an illegal aliens’ victim restitution fund.

Enactment of these provisions will motivate illegal aliens to SELF-deport, and remove colonizadors from our welfare rolls.
