But this time, against the backdrop of the fast-moving impeachment inquiry, Pelosi arrived not just as the leader of the opposing party, but as the speaker who could determine Trump's political future.

Pelosi will NOT determine Trumps political future. In order, that will be determined by the Senate and then the voting public.
It makes no difference at this point whether the House votes to impeach or not, except to the loony, rabid base.
It’s not that McCain and Romney and bush lacked the spine to fight. It’s that they didn’t disagree with the Dems, so there was no need to fight

I’d say it was more of a case of them NOT having the spine to fight, so they therefore agreed with the Dems on many (most) issues.
Trump is unique in that he absolutely relishes in getting down into the mud to fight the slime monsters.
Although not as worthy of the passing of say, Metzenbaum, but certainly a contender for top ten.
The “House” isn’t consumed with impeachment talks. There was no vote of the House, just an edict from a political leader. It is strictly a function of democrats in the House. This is a democrat impeachment...nothing more.

I believe the meeting was about Syria, Kurds Turkey etc. i think the chief of the joint chiefs his was positioned to the right of trump.
If that was the meeting, his comment was out of place and as rude a usual. Of course many here get an orgasms no matter what he does.
When you make those kind of comments you give the person you address them to the right to do anything in response.
