FRANKFORT, Ky. (WKYT) - A new poll shows Gov. Matt Bevin and Attorney General Andy Beshear are in a dead heat just weeks ahead of November's gubernatorial election.
A Mason-Dixon Kentucky Poll shows both Bevin and Beshear have 46 percent of the vote. Libertarian John Hicks has one percent while seven percent of voters remain undecided. There is a margin of error of no more than four percentage points.
The polling lines up with a Politico report which said Bevin is gaining ground in the governor's race. He was down eight percent against Beshear in Mason-Dixon's December 2018 poll.
The poll shows Bevin is drawing more Republican support, as he has increased 10 percent in GOP support. He also has a stronger crossover vote with Democrats than Beshear has with Republicans. Bevin's job approval rating remains at 45 percent, while 48 percent disapprove of his job performance.

This is Kentucky, can a dem win a governor’s race?
Dems always claim Bevin is dead in the water...
so a poll showing a tie is wonderful news.
They usually do. If Bevin is re-elected it would be quite historic.
WHY in the hell does anyone on the right pay any attention to polls!!!!
It’s fun to call them on their horsesh!t.
Should Trump visit or should Bevin win it w/o help? Trump can use a win like that to prove the fake news is fake.
Trump should definitely visit Kentucky.
Matt Bevins Win In Kentucky Shows We Are Addicted To Bad Polling
There never is a tie.
It always goes to the Democrat.
He is our second Republican governor in over 100 years.
Well, in the defense of Kentucky, Bevin himself is who made this a race with making some really bad comments at times and damaging his own personal popularity - otherwise I really don’t think this would even be a contest. The air war has effectively refocused the race on policy instead of personality which has damaged Beshear and strengthened Bevin. The Democrats had been solidly in control of the state House since the 1920s until the 2016 election and it flipped big time to a Republican supermajority and it held on in 2018 - I believe that is here to stay.

If I read that article correctly, it is a REGISTERED voter poll. Those are useless in that they always favor Democrats. That means Bevin is ahead.
I believe it is accurate in that Beshear may get 46% of the vote.
From the 19th century until the 1990s, no Governor could run for reelection in KY (unless they succeeded to the office after the start of a term). There has never been a Republican reelected Governor. Only once in state history has a Republican succeeded another, and that was in 1899 when William Sylvester Taylor did so, only to have the election stolen by a Democrat Board of Elections and handed to the loser, William Goebel (who himself had just created said board, which was massively unpopular). That decision just about triggered a civil war in the state and Goebel was promptly assassinated on his 4th DAY in office in Feb 1900.
Sixth GOP Governor since 1919, actually. The longest stretch without one was from 1971-2004, which permitted the Dems to deeply entrench their corrupt patronage armies that Ernie Fletcher tried to weed out when he was elected, only to have them used against him to run him out in a virtual coup d’état led by that execrable then-AG Stumpy.
“Its fun to call them on their horsesh!t.”
They just shovel out more horse dung. What’s so fun?
Predict averages on OurCampaigns still has Bevin 51-48% over Beshear. I think he’ll get that. Cameron may get 60% for AG. I’m gonna be optimistic.
Pres. Trump absolutely needs to do a barnstorming tour for the KY candidates the week of the election and for Rispone down in LA to help him take out Edwards.
