I was reading elsewhere what the cop did immediately after the murder.
1. He quit his job. Before he was fired.
2. He lawyered up. He refused to answer questions without his attorney present. They claimed he refused to “cooperate”.
In other words he followed the book on what to do if the cops arrest you.
I read that the chief told him to resign or he was going to fire him. Apparently I guess that means the chief thought it would look better on his record that way. Sickos.
He did exactly what he should have done. I don't think he's going to get out of this without prison time, but he has greatly improved his chances of lesser charges or lesser punishment by not cooperating.
Right now the cops want to burn him to make their lives on the streets easier. That's not the same thing as seeing justice done.
Exactly. At least he was smart in that respect.
If I were ever to be questioned by the police or any other government official, I’d request a lawyer/lawyer up immediately. That’s just smart, common sense.
I don’t know where this idealized view of law/justice comes from but it’s not reality for anyone regardless of station in society.
People watch too much tv and form their views on procedural dramas.
