GOP Rep. Matt Gaetz ejected from closed-door impeachment meeting
Washington Examiner ^ | October 14, 2019 | Susan Ferrichio

A Republican member of the House Judiciary Committee was ejected from a closed-door impeachment hearing.

Rep. Matt Gaetz of Florida tried to enter a hearing Monday in which lawmakers from three different committees are interviewing President Trump’s former top aide on Russia, Fiona Hill.

Gaetz said he believed he should be allowed to attend the hearing because impeachment inquiries traditionally are handled by the House Judiciary Committee, and he serves on that panel.

But the House parliamentarian told Gaetz he is not allowed to attend the hearing because he does not sit on either the Intelligence, Foreign Affairs, or Oversight panels, which are the official committees conducting the impeachment inquiry.

Yeah, this “inquiry” is about as legitimate as Jesse Jackson’s kids.

I hope Americans see through it.

Democrat Star Chamber. This so-called inquiry is illegitimate from both a procedural standpoint as well as substance.

House Republicans must get their gonads strapped on and beat the crooked Democrats into the ground. It does not require a majority to force the Rule of Law.

The reason Republicans are treated with such disdain and unfairness is because they never stood up against the Democrats who (correctly) see them as weak and feckless.

When you let people walk over you expect them to drive over you too.

It is time for a Senate “inquiry” into the House “inquiry”!

Treason is the reason.

from a foxnews story about the ejection . . .

Sondland is set to tell lawmakers that he did understand the administration was offering Zelenskiy a White House visit in exchange for a public statement committing to investigations Trump wanted, according to the person, who demanded anonymity to discuss remarks not yet given.

secret proceedings. guilty as charged. guilt by accusation. no evidence required. guilty until proven guiltier.

this is a star chamber.

All righty, send somebody who sits on either the Intelligence, Foreign Affairs, or Oversight committees. Then see what they say about it. Rinse and repeat... make them justify the exclusion every step of the way.

This isn’t an impeachment proceeding.

It’s a star chamber.

The silver lining is that this has to delegitimize even further the Impeachment witch hunt.

Republicans don’t want to seem too overpowering because they’re afraid that Dems will enact equal retribution when they regain power. The problem is, Dems will do this anyway, so there’s nothing to lose.

Yes, they should. But they won’t. THEY are weak and the Democrats know it, which is why we are witnessing this absurd kangaroo court.

The Democrats are destroying the country in part because the GOP never stood up to them.

“go in there and get kicked out...everyday....make a ruckus.”

Make them throw you out physically. Have multiple cameras recording. Speak about this crap every day on the floor of congress.

You are exactly right. The Republicans should stand up and fight on principles, but they have none.

People respect and fear fighters. On the other hand, weakness invites aggression; always has and always will. Simple as that.

I hate what the Dems are doing but I understand why they’re doing it. There are no consequences and therefore no reason to not to keep pushing the envelope.
