Adam Schiff’s ‘Grand Jury’

Adam Schitt is running a secret "Court of the Star Chamber" with himself as judge and jury.

Maybe some Good Ole Boys will have a little proceeding of their own with Schitt for Brains.

“Secret” hearings will not convince the American people to support impeachment. The less fairness, the more the backlash.

...not give the President or his legal minions the opportunity to tailor their testimony and in some cases fabricate testimony to suit their interests...

So much for the rights of the accused I guess. The leftist/fascist tribunals are a real thing. I thought the defense was allowed to see the prosecution's case developing - exactly so they could prepare a defense and not walk into an ambush of accusations.

Speaking of accusations. If anyone knows about fabricating testimony out of whole cloth it would be the leftists. Remember the Kavanaugh fiasco? The Russian collusion investigation? Leftists cannot be trusted, period.

This whole analogy of impeachment in the House as a grand jury is ridiculous.
A grand jury is made up of unbiased citizens hearing testimony presented by the prosecution.
This impeachment process is like the defendant sitting in front of a panel of prosecutors who have already decided the defendant is guilty.

Witnesses testify behind closed doors, and Democrats selectively leak the testimony or evidence to the pro-impeachment press in ways that are often distorted or incomplete. Republicans then offer a competing narrative, and the public is left to wonder what’s true.

McConnell could end this Ukraine nonsense with one phone call to Pelosi telling her the Senate will immediately compel testimony in public from every “witness” the House Dems have testify in private. Since do-nothing McConnell isn’t doing that I can only assume he too wants POTUS impeached by the House.

The Constitution does not provide for secret grand jury methods as an on-ramp for impeachment. Trump needs to sue for his Constitutionally guaranteed rights. The Constitution holds that the House has the sole power to impeach. Not the Speaker of the House, not a BS committee chairman in the House, and not any single member of the House - but the House collectively. That means a VOTE in the whole House.

His phony explanation of what the republicans will do is

EXACTLY WHAT HE ACTUALLY DOES.

Does he think we are too stupid to see that. It requires major stupidity or gigantic cajones for him to think we are not aware.

Schiff acts like he's a judge running a Grand Jury......but there's a monumental distinction:....
a grand jury is a criminal proceeding. Impeachment is a political process in which
the House gathers evidence to define the meaning of “high crimes and misdemeanors.”

Schiff wants it both ways:
<><> Run secret committees hearings like a criminal Grand Jury......
<><> then impeach Mr. Trump of political offenses even if the President committed no crime.

IOW, he's already made up his mind....Trump is guilty of something........so let's nail him.

=========================================

Schiff was challenged on his committee's unheard of secrecy and his response on Sunday talk TV was frightening:
"we want to make sure that we meet the needs of the investigation (and the hell with Pres Trump's Constitutional right to be heard).

Stalin’s Soviet show trials are back - and just like before, defendants have no rights, and have already been found guilty even before proceedings begin.

The fact that they have to do it this way shows how flimsy their “case for impeachment” really is.

On a Sunday morning cable news program yesterday, SchifftyEyes now claims they won't need the whistleblower.

No whistleblower, no evidence, no nothing. We'll just impeach Trump for what I said he said in my parody of the phone call.

The democRATS will rue the day they ever tried to pull this impeachment scam on Donald Trump.

Adam Schiff will probably take the place of Joe McCarthy as the Grand Inquisitor of American history. Unlike McCarthy, however, there will be no Verona Papers to exonerate him.
