As a scientist, I have a few comments.

First, I suspect that the 8 inches of sea level rise might be an overstatement, depending upon the stability of the land upon which the tide gauge is constructed, and second...

Archimedes' Principle.

Meaning if the warmist cult mongers were right (they are not) and sea level rose, it might be that the (cough, cough) rising sea level would seek its own level inside the wall, and that there could be upwelling all over the place. Much depends on the soil characteristics, and I just betcha that inside the wall would just turn into a giant bathhouse.

They could be better off raising the airport elevation with landfill (say from all of that poop, trash, and needles).

It would give the Super High Speed Train something to do.

Put the Bullet Train to Nowhere on top of the wall, and have it go 'round and 'round.

All aboard!

Why protect the airport when man will be forced to give up all flying to save the planetz?

Amsterdam’s Schiphol Airport currently is 9.8 feet BELOW Sea Level and functioning quite nicely, thank you.

But its runways sit only about 10 feet above sea level.

So?

I saw no evidence that they were HIGHER than 10 feet above sea level when first constructed!

: )

Ha.... The probability of the sea covering the runways is lower than the probability that San Francisco will be destroyed by an earth quake.

If San Francisco is destroyed, there is no need for an airport

Probably already posted. Why such insanity when Frisco won't address their homeless, bums/tramps/thieves, urine, feces, needles, trash, losing business and jobs, etc.?

Why do all their Mayors and City Councils ignore the above? Are they still on LSD or have no commonsense? Yes I know, they're all socialist Dims.

“This is something we’ve been looking at for many years,” said Doug Yakel, a spokesman for the airport. “What’s changed is the level of protection that is needed.”

But did the level of sea water change?
