Alabama Democratic Sen. Jones in a bind on impeachment

HANCEVILLE, Ala. (AP) — U.S. Sen. Doug Jones walked into a recent town hall and declared he was ready for whatever his constituents wanted to throw at him. But first, he wanted to address the biggest news from Washington: The House impeachment inquiry of President Donald Trump. "I'm not making a judgment about where we are on any of this because it's too early," Jones said, not waiting to be asked. He noted his potential role as a juror if the issue lands in the Senate.

Already considered the Senate's most endangered Democrat, the senator is facing the uncomfortable possibility of having to vote on removing the president from office while running for reelection in a state where Trump won 62% of the vote. Whatever Jones decides, if it comes to that, he's going to make lots of Alabamians mad.

Both McConnell and Graham have said there will be no impeachment so Jones will be off the hook.

I live in Alabama and follow politics closely. I’ve never heard of Arnold Mooney.

Mitch McConnell is why Jones won.

I’m not so sure, the Rats know it was a nearly impossible thing to pick up an Al Senate seat. They might give Jones a pass if it’s clear Trump will not be removed.

He lost for the same reason that Republican Senators rubber stamped nearly every Federal Judge appointed by Carter,Clinton, and Obama.

To top it off both Bushes nominated plenty of leftists too. Bush was at least better than Obama but that is not saying much.

Moore was his own worst enemy. He may have been the most inept political candidate we’ve seen on the national stage in years.

I'm telling you right now...that needle-nosed, carpet-bagging joke of a dumb ass democrat politician will NOT get re-elected in THIS state.

The knee-jerk closet liberal RINOS of Alabama are the only ones that put him office, with all their squeeking and eeking stupidity.

He is pretty much disliked and disrespected by all, even the squeekers and eekers...and once Tommy Tuberville starts to get his message out, Jones is toast.

Hell, once ANY Republican starts to make themselves known, he's toast.

Good riddance.

What can I say?

Arnold Mooney (Republican) is a member of the Alabama House of Representatives, representing District 43. Mooney was elected to the office on November 4, 2014.

Mooney announced on May 6, 2019, that he would run for Alabama's U.S. Senate seat in 2020.[1]

Mooney was an at-large delegate to the 2016 Republican National Convention from Alabama.

He knows he’s going to lose this seat anyway. So he’ll vote with the rest of the Dems.

Doug Jones is not Joe Manchin.

I bet you take most people and they don’t know or have not heard
of the members of the house in their state. The Alabama House is
composed of 105 members.

Voters need to put him on the “ Endangered Feces List” and flush him down the political cesspool of hasbeens.
