A Republican millionaire making his first bid for public office Saturday night narrowly his edged his way into a Nov. 16 runoff with Louisianas incumbent Democratic governor, according to the WWL-TV projection..
70-year-old Eddie Rispone is projected to win just enough votes to edge his Republican rival, U.S. Rep. Ralph Abraham, out of the contest with incumbent Democratic Gov. John Bel Edwards, who led the field but not by enough to win outright.
Active in backroom conservative politics for years hes given close to a million dollars in campaign contributions to GOP candidates and causes Rispone threw himself into the race after finding through prayer that he needed to give something back. Through a carpet of television commercials, Rispone introduced himself as an outsider with business skills who would change things like President Donald Trump.

The Governor of Louisiana, John Bel Edwards, has done a poor job. NOW HE IS IN A RUNOFF WITH A GREAT REPUBLICAN, @EddieRispone
. Thank you Louisiana! 66% down to 47% after I explained what a bad job the Governor was doing.
This is exactly why Republicans want Trump in their state. His crowds translate into votes.
Only a fool would pass up having him on the campaign trail.
President Trump has a political soulmate in Rispone. A match made in heaven.
NYT has called a runoff-Eddie vs Edwards
Rispone will have a GOP supermajority legislature to work with! A
whomever voted for Edwards tonight will vote for Edwards again....not Everyone who voted for Abraham will vote for Rispone
Lots less candidates on the ballot so the turnout will most
likely be much smaller. A lot of the local races have been
decided.
Polls, yeah.
The polls also had Edwards winning outright this evening.
That may be true, but some polls had Edwards at 52% for today according to fake CNN. Wouldn’t put much in the polls.
The polls also had Edwards winning outright this evening.
I had seen polls anywhere from 46 to 51 .....
“Latest polls have Edwards up 7-9 points in a head to head match up”....Yes, you keep posting those polls oh so accurate polls won’t you.
“whomever voted for Edwards tonight will vote for Edwards again....not Everyone who voted for Abraham will vote for Rispone”...And you know that to be fact how?
Good grief, people who post their arm chair know it all opinions as bonafide fact really irritate me.
Latest polls have Edwards up 7-9 points in a head to head match up . . .
With such encouraging news of Louisiana having elected a supermajority legislature, why must you throw a wet blanket on the evening and buy into polls??
Just wait until PDJT comes back to rally for Rispone and make sure that Abraham is on hand to publicly endorse his supporters to GOTV to defeat Edwards.
Not so fast! Democrat media predicted an outright Edwards win. Didnt happen.
And Trump is going to come back for Rispone. I wouldnt trust those polls showing a big Edwards lead.
Remember Mary Landrieu? She was dispatched in the run off.
Democrats got slaughtered tonight.
Impeachment isnt a winning issue. Democrats should wake up but they wont.
You are such a defeatist!
Rispone will win in November.
East Baton Rouge Parish schools, taxes, horrible. (Post Katrina, influx from orleans parish [county]) They have been fighting to incorporate/decouple from EBR & have their own school system, etc separate from baton rouge, who has been fighting tooth & nail against for years. St. George is a large catholic church, area named.here are details if you are interested. https://www.theadvocate.com/baton_rouge/news/politics/elections/article_f06157a4-e496-11e9-917a-57706bb8c642.html
, why must you throw a wet blanket on the evening and buy into polls??
example:
if Barrack Obama got 46 % of the vote ,,,Donald trump got 22 and Mitt Romney got 25 in this election ...
in the runoff the people the Voted for Obama would still vote for Obama but I doubt many here would vote for Romney now would they ..they would sit it out
“Impeachment isn’t a winning issue”...
Its a “whining” one...
