Louisiana Governor - election today. Everybody vote!! Polls close at 8pm. If any candidate gets a majority (51%) of the vote in the first round that candidate wins the election.
Like I said, if Edwards couldnt win re-election tonight in the face of a divided GOP field, he wont be able to pull it off against the GOP front runner.
A quick calculation shows that Edwards would have to get over 60% of the few remaining votes to avoid a runoff. Impossible.
Such a defeatist!
Yes!
One of the Twitter accounts I follow noted that the old style Blue Dog Democrats had bucked the trend in Louisiana for years by keeping their seats in rural districts, but that all came crashing down tonight.
____________
Would love to know how many dem incumbents lost their seats tonight.
I believe he passed away
Democrats been quiet on Twitter all night. Says a lot
“I’m certainly no expert in Louisiana politics, but this guy predicts a Republican Supermajority in the legislature.”

I’m a bit clueless on the election process in LA.
Is this all in preparation for 2020?
Merciful Maude. It’s nerve wracking.
Completes transformation of LA into a Red state. Its in the bag for President Trump.
Demographics is destiny.
The way to look at it is that there are 719 precincts out; of these only 47 are in Baton Rouge but 162 are in New Orleans. If there is balance for the Reps in the remaining 500 precincts outside these two parishes, Edwards should be stuck in the 46-47 percent range for the final vote.
Ditto. I bet swing-seat Dems in the House of Representatives would like to know that, too.
Edwards needs 73K to hit 50% as it stands now. He’ll pick up maybe 50K in Orleans parish and maybe a max of 15K EBR and elsewhere.
That’s if all the Pubbie counties were done which they are not.......Bottom line, Edwards is toast.
I always watch to the bitter end but it’;s looking good.
3309 of 3934 precincts reporting - 84% Edwards 46%
You got to win Jefferson Parish.
Thats where the votes are.
Its very conservative.
Anyone know what the fools at cnn are spouting?
They say all politics is local but the Democrats crazed obsession with impeaching President Trump cost them big time in LA tonight.
Trump country isnt deserting the President. Just the exact opposite.
Yep. They were planning on Edwards walking away with it so they could say “Trump has lost his base’. Oops. Narrative didn’t happen.
CNN probably talking about chicks with dicks again
Somebody posted a line earlier tonite that the Edwards camp was confidently projecting an outright victory at 52 percent. Maybe they underestimated the Trump effect on turnout.
Should we thank Schiff and Pelosi?
