PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, MD Maryland state lawmaker Tawanna Gaines, a Democrat from Prince George's County, has abruptly resigned after being suspected of using money she raised for her reelection campaign for personal use. She submitted her resignation to House Speaker Adrienne Jones on Friday, Oct. 4. She now faces a federal wire fraud charge.
Gaines, 67, has served in the Maryland House of Delegates since 2001 and, according to the AP, defrauded her campaign and its contributors of more than $22,000 from at least January 2015 through April 2018.
"After much thought and consideration, I have decided to submit my immediate resignation to the Maryland House of Delegates as of Oct. 4th, 2019," Gaines wrote.

She must not have realized that the way to do it is through your family member or close friends board membership (Bidens son) or so-called nonprofit( Cummings wife). Dont spend the campaign donations on yourself directly.
. Maryland is so extremely gerrymandered that she probably didnt even need that much money spent on her campaign. In many districts, just get the nomination as a Dem and election in the general is a done deal.

Criminal intent might be easy to prove when you have a campaign committee collecting and disbursing money legitimately while you have a separate PayPal account accepting contributions that you havent reported at all. Im guessing that the amount in the charging document is only a fraction of what she spent on other than campaign expenses. I wonder what she spent that money on?

Okay, but she wouldn't have turned to crime if Trump hadn't outlawed safe access to abortion in areas hit by hurricanes due to global warming..

She will be re-elected to the seat at some point in time... She just needs the time off to get that dang Cayman's account straightened out...
IAC, on the PG county tree of corruption, she is just one of the smallest twigs...

Yes, courts uphold the O’Malley congressional map while demanding a re-draw of the also-gerrymandered Pennsylvania map.

Lobbyists in Annapolis are reputed to have tables reserved in the fancy restaurants close to the Capitol building during the entire legislative session. They need to have a nice place to invite a state legislator for a meeting.
