We came over to the new world. 80/90% of the Native American populace died of disease brought over from Europe, for which the Native American populace had no immunity.
We do have reservations today, where Native Americans live in a rather autonomous state. We’re not running military operations against them.
We’re not attacking them with chemical agents.
Are some of these areas poverty stricken? I believe so.
The Casinos on these reservations seem to help out with funding for the tribes.
Is this a perfect situation? I don’t think so. I’d like to see the Indian Nations flourishing to a better degree than they are.
I don’t keep up on the issue as much as others. I can’t speak with authority on the subject.
Seems to me the Kurds are asking for somethings long these lines, only to a higher level of being autonomous.
I don’t have all the answers. Maybe I’m totally wrong to think the Kurds should have their own nation. I’m sure there were a lot of folks who thought re-establishing Israel in the Middle-East was a terrible idea too.
Palestine didn’t even exist.
