Liberal media outlets have promoted liberal billionaire 2020 candidate Tom Steyer as a patrician populist who has decried the corporate stranglehold on democracy. But Steyer is also currently the top federal spender to outside groups this cycle.
According to data from Open Secrets, Steyer is the top federal contributor to outside groups. In total, he gave $21,063,557 to liberal causes in the 2020 election cycle, outspending eight of the top conservative donors ($19,710,327).
Steyer, who led a $120-million campaign to impeach Trump during the 2018 election, will make his first appearance on stage during the Oct. 15, Democratic Party presidential primary debate.

So tommy boy will make the big stage for the next round of contestant proclamations. Then those unfamiliar with him can see what a nut bag he is. And, since those inclined to watch are mostly already in the bag for the lib side, they'll probably think he's reasonable. And, 'open secrets'? Why does that ring a bell? :-)

How does Steyer do this? Isn’t there a limit on individual contributions?

Yep, hypocrite like all the rest. The Farallon group. The leftist hypocrisy goes deep, and if the public truly knew they would be blown away by some of it.

“tom steyer gave $21,063.557-liberals, dwarfs...”
That’s ok if he gave mostly to dwarfs.
To: combat_boots
And now he’s “woke”. Twenty one million dollars in guilt bucks?

If Tom Steyer dumped the overblown over-worked, over-used cliches, he might be able to best clowns like Beto...and the rest of ‘em.

The really big money in politics is the media. Journalism defines objectivity as agreeing with the journalists conceit that 'nothing matters but bad news. Bad news about society, implying the need for more and better government. Journalism defines every positive political label - liberal, moderate, progressive, centrist, whatever - to mean exactly the same thing - but applied to people who are not employed as journalists, but who go along and get along perfectly with journalists.

There's a limit on how much one person can give directly to a specific candidate, each year. But you can do this for as many candidates as you want, and it doesn't apply to groups that support a general cause, or a specific candidate. It ONLY limits direct support given to that candidate.
