Pat Robertson ‘Appalled’ By Trump:(trunc)... May Lose ‘The Mandate of Heaven’ Over Syria

Televangelist Pat Robertson has joined the chorus of conservative critics lambasting President Donald Trump’s decision to pull U.S. forces out of Northern Syria — endangering America’s Kurdish allies.

Trump was slammed by many of his usual defenders on Monday after the White House announced the U.S. will allow for a Turkish military operation in the war-torn region. Trump argued in a statement that Turkey will assume responsibility for all ISIS fighters captured in the region, many of whom were detained by Kurdish forces allied with America. The Turkish government views these Kurdish militias as terrorists — despite the U.S. supporting them in the fight against ISIS.

Trump shot back at his critics on Twitter by defending his position while promising that “if Turkey does anything that I, in my great and unmatched wisdom, consider to be off limits, I will totally destroy and obliterate the Economy of Turkey.”

Robertson said he was “absolutely appalled” by the announcement, warning that Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan is a “thug” and a “dictator.”

GOD'S people are often willfully ignorant of Biblical prophesy. It's been that way since Old Testament times.

But if they do not listen, they perish by the and die without knowledge ~ Job 36:12

My people are destroyed from lack of knowledge ~`Hosea 4:6

Is any decision by Trump (or you or me) going to change the prophesy of God?

Is Trump that powerful?

Is anyone?

It will happen. The WORD of the LORD proves true. However, I'd hate for our country to be on the wrong side of the prophesy.

Exactly right. If God’s foresight depended on Donald Trump’s actions, then God’s waiting with bated breath to see what happens with the Kushner & the Palestinian people.

Syria isn’t fondly looked upon in scripture except in a very few places. It’s more biblically believable to think that God is pulling Trump out of there as an act of mercy. The same with Iraq and Afghanistan.

I’m not sure the Kurds need advisors. What they need is air support. There’s no reason that cannot continue from carriers and elsewhere.

The president just wants our ground forces and compounds out. My guess is that a major concern is the US must monitor every flight anyplace in Syria to ensure it isn’t going to make a high speed 10 minute diversion to one of our locations to deliver some kind of bio or chem attack...even conventional ordnance.

And, of course, there is the danger of ground attack against any compound, convoy, or recon team. It is true that no American can drive into any town for coffee and a donut. They’ll be killed. That’s the “peace” we also have in Iraq and Afghan. After 20 years, that’s the best we’ve got.

My Christianity tells me Islam is ultimately doomed, but in the meantime, the fanatics are still blowing themselves up.

Why don’t we poll the families of American service members, that are in harms way, how they feel about their loved ones lives being at risk?

Now that I am reading more I am starting to question the wisdom of Trump’s decision. Is the media being deceptive because the latest articles make it sound like Trump is “inviting” Turkey to control Kurdish controlled areas in Syria. Is Trump inviting Turkey to take a portion of Syria over?

Just to be clear the troops being pulled out are about 1000 troops and not from formally ISIS controlled areas, but from the areas controlled by the Kurds? Now I’m wondering what is the harm leaving them there. Are they potential ISIS targets? Maybe keeping US troops there is a good warning to Islamist Turkey to not try to pull any shite.

The Turks are holding about 2 million Syrian refugees. They want to send them home and have them be safe. They want to do that by taking about a 30 mile swath of northern Syrian and setting up a protectorate area.

Many of the Kurds are PKK, an identified terrorist group that hates Turkey. They will do what they can to destroy any initiative on Turkey’s part.

So, the issue isn’t ONLY abandoning the Kurds. It’s safely repatriating a couple million Syrians back to their own country. The alternative for Turkey is to send them to Europe. The bottom line, then, is that Trump is helping Europe more than Europe helps Europe. But for the repatriation to be effective, the Kurdish terrorist groups need to be controlled.

In the meantime, the US Troops will just be cannon fodder for some group to attack to try to get the US involved.

Trump’s making a decent decision here. But all we’ll hear is that the Kurds are being betrayed. That’s by those who are into empire building by the USA.

First off this whole thing is very complicated and I am sure 99% of the public has no idea what is going on.

Second, so Trump basically is green lighting Turkey to invade northern Syria? Is Assad OK with this?

I think Assad probably wants his 2 million citizens back.

Turkey’s invasion is not really an invasion if they are repatriating Syrians.

I don’t want them sent to Europe or to the USA as refugees. Do you? Does anyone?

I have to be a little suspicious when the Armenian slaughtering Turks tell us the PKK are terrorists. Frankly I don’t blame them for hating Turkey. I hate Turkey. I hate that Britain and France way back sided with these SOBs against another Christian nation in the Crimean War. And I especially hate Turkey even more that the Islamists are in control.

The Armenian massacre is a historical stain that still has no accountability. However, those folks are all dead and gone.

The PKK is also listed by the US as a terrorist organization, iirc.

I could care less what happens to the 2 million Syrians as long as they don’t come here. Still we are basically giving the Kurds to the kingship of the Turks and trusting the Turks to treat then well?
