The opening sentence or paragraph of a news article, summarizing the most important aspects of the story.

Gerbilists bury the lede deep down in the story when they find it inconvenient towards their narrative. Most people don’t dig that far down. That’s one of the ways the left is able to shape what people think they know.

A lede (pronounced LEED) is the essential gist of a news story --- quickly establishing Who, What, When, and Why should I care-- which is supposed to be in introductory section of the article, "leading" into the rest of the story.

So to "bury the lede" refers to hiding the most important and relevant pieces of a story within other distracting information.

Like writing a story about the Ukraine thing and not mentioning the word "Biden" until continued on page 13, paragraph 27.

P.S. I think the journos spell it "lede" so it doesn't get spelled "lead" ("led") and pronounced like "dropped like a lead balloon."
