Kenya: Kidnapped Italian aid worker forced to convert to Islam

During her kidnapping last year, a woman and four children were wounded when jihadists armed with AK-47 rifles opened fire during the attack.
Italian intelligence officials have now claimed that Silvia Romano has been forced to “convert to Islam and marry a Somalian man.” This is a phenomenon we often see in jihad-infested territories: infidel women are kidnapped, raped, and forced to convert to Islam and marry the their Muslim kidnapper.
“O Prophet! We have made lawful to thee thy wives to whom thou hast paid their dowers; and those (slaves) whom thy right hand possesses out of the prisoners of war whom Allah has assigned to thee” (Quran 33:50)
“And all married women (are forbidden unto you) save those (captives) whom your right hands possess.” (Quran 4:24)

Italian intelligence officials have claimed that kidnapped aid worker Silvia Romano is alive and was forced to convert to Islam and marry a Somalian man.
The 23-year-old Italian national was kidnapped in Kenya in November of last year and taken prisoner in the village of Chakama, 50 miles from Nairobi.
Intelligence officials said she was then taken to territory in southern Somalia controlled by the radical Islamist organisation al-Shabab. Her captors then forced her to convert to Islam, Il Giornale reports.
The paper claims Italian intelligence heard about Romano’s situation through local sources, but added that there was no reliable information as to her whereabouts or her current status.
Intelligence officials had planned on executing a military intervention to rescue Romano. That option was ruled out in response to news that her captors have taken her to Somalia, which has far fewer reliable allies.
Instead, officials have sought to find the captors and negotiate a ransom for her release. So far, they have been unsuccessful.
The news comes less than a week after one of six Nigerian aid workers was killed after being kidnapped by jihadists in northeast Nigeria.
Charity group Action Against Hunger, which employed the six aid workers, commented: “Action Against Hunger condemns in the strongest terms this assassination and urgently calls for the release of the hostages.”

I would wager she was not just “kidnapped” - but horribly gang raped. Again. And again.

How much money could a mercenary make for going into Kenya to extricate her and to see that she gets home safely?
It is amazing that people have such an urge to go help others in need that they totally disregard their own personal safety. I applaud people like that and have known several personally. Our neighbor smuggled bibles into communist Romania for years. My dentist has been to Africa several times to bring dentistry to poor remote villages.
It’s hard to fault people for doing that. But it’s hard to not excoriate people for being completely ignorant of the high stakes involved.
The photos of this young Italian woman are heartbreaking.
I'd say that this girl is to be admired...particularly given the assumption that she was aware of how much danger she was in.

It’s a White person thing. It hits hardest among white women and is reinforced by constant propaganda from the media. Suicidal altruism is what it is. If they can’t travel abroad to help them they bring them here to be coddled.
No doubt, a kind soul. But, irredeemably stupid.
To have a world view that impels one into an alien, misogynist, and anti-Western culture is suicidal and in need of restraint. Going into Muslim countries to virtue signal to the ones back home is playing Russian roulette with the Islamists. There are plenty of poor people in need of assistance outside of the Muslim Middle East. Attend to them.
I agree and I imagine that now she does also.
Now they are taught that they are only potential targets of white male violence and sexual domination - that men of other colors and from other countries are nice people who have been hurt by white male colonialism and it a white female obligation to help make things better. By voting for collectivists or even, as in this case, going to fix the problem themselves.
This Marxist teaching is deliberately 180 degrees off from reality - but it is working to destabilize Western societies.
I, too, wish she hadn’t accepted that job.
But many good souls travel into remote areas to help people. Many Christians, especially, as young as 16, take mission trips to impoverished parts of the world. Whole families with young children go on mission trips together. Most of them are not harmed in any way and return home safely.
Like you, I would never do it myself, and I would never encourage my own kids to do it. On the other hand, I don’t criticize anyone who does. When something terrible happens, I just wish afterward that they hadn’t gone there.
Not entirely white women. The two people I cited are white males. It’s more of a Christian behavior.
