Back in '73, as a first lieutenant at Fort Lewis, I was required to qualify on the M1911A1 .45-caliber pistol. I couldn't hit the broad side of a barn with the damn thing. The Range NCO had to lie and say I had qualified.

Fast forward 46 years. At the Memorial Shoot, I borrowed El Gato's .45 and hit the target like a pro. My shot group wasn't as tight as I would have liked, but Osama died just the same. Slowly.

Maybe if you’d had Osama on the target in ‘73 you’d have done better ;)
