Christ forgave us before we comitted our sins, and before we repented of them.

It’s HIS love, and sacrifice, that gives forgiveness, not her attempts to downplay what happened.

Forgiveness does NOT remove consequences of sin. Scripture teaches that where SIN abounds grace does much more abound.

In other words where the sin is great and consequences severe —. God’s love and mercy can be on display for the world to see and experience —-

God desires all to receive the FREE gift of salvation—. Not FREE because it cost God the Father everything as He willing poured out the penalty for our sin on HIMSELF - God in flesh, Jesus Christ, paid our sin debt

"I don’t think forgiveness of this woman has any place here at all."

Why? She will be serving hard time and continuously contemplating her actions of being the sexual partner of an adulterous officer where a series of unfortunate events occurred that left another person dead. Everyday she will be in her own hell as a former police officer sentenced to an facility where inmates hate cops, however, the judge and brother left her the pathway to life.

If she used her key and the door was open so the key didn’t have resistance and the door swung open it surely would reinforce thinking it was her own door and she was being robbed. Same if the door was already slightly ajar when she walked up to it. Have to think a locked door keeps things like this from happening the vast majority of the time. Ten years or more sounds fine to me. Have to wonder what else has happened in the course of her career that points to gross negligence. Not that the victim is to blame at all, but it is a lesson to secure one’s home. Even a chair under the knob or a wedge in the gap if your door won’t lock when you are home.

shooting statistics bear out that police officers are more likely to injure innocent bystanders far more often than civilian shooters. Most are lousy shooters in general and several have bad attitudes. Many don’t of course!

I figured that would be the defense, she slept very poorly the night before or she was working a lot of overtime.

As it turned out, she wasn't very tired because she was "sexting" her partner (who also was her lover) minutes before she went into the wrong apartment. That seems to be the real reason she was distracted.

A law that allows repair by the tenant if the landlord refuses to repair the door in 24 hours and deduct the cost from rent.

That was extraordinarily powerful. Thanks for posting it.

I pray that the Lord be with that young man to continue to help him and give him grace during this horrible time in his life. He is going to have a hard time, but he is looking in the right direction. For his sake, I'll offer my hope that the same grace comes to her.

My youngest daughter died in a car crash several years ago. It was a single-car accident, and a friend of hers was driving. I made sure to tell the young lady at the funeral that I certainly wasn't attaching guilt to her, because it was just an accident. The circumstances led me to the belief that the accident was mostly caused by inexperience, and know that it was as much a tragedy to her as it was to us.

The Lord gives you strength when you need it most.

It’s not whining when it’s true. Men get 63% more time than women do for the same crimes. Have you ever seen what the court system does to men in a divorce compared to women? Men go through the meat grinder, women are treated as victims. That is fact. Thank you.

‘A guy would be doing 30 to life and pulling out the stops to stay off death row.’

that about sums up the real moral of this sordid story...

‘So just stop with the manwhining.’

are you seriously arguing that criminal actions are, or have ever been equally adjudicated vis a vis men and women...?

pay attention. Thank you...
