My daughter is one of the three known conservatives in Charlottesville. She won’t be giving up her firearms.

And that’s not just an educated guess. There is historical evidence to back it up. In the 1920’s America had Prohibition. Alcohol was outlawed. So there was no alcohol for law-abiding folks. But the criminal class could get all the beer and whiskey they wanted.
So here’s the one question I’d ask every gun control advocate: How would gun confiscation turn out differently than did Prohibition?
... except guns in the hands of hardened violent criminals. Just those owned by non-violent citizens.
I always noticed that many women chiefs as well as some “soy men” chiefs could never hit the side of a barn with a handgun.
They believe if they ban all guns they won’t be embarassed by the officers that really know what the job entails.

I have an answer for that. It’s very hard to drink yourself to death. It’s easy to get killed with a gun in the hands of those that shouldn’t have them do and the ones killed because they didn’t. Happens every day now. Like pouring gasoline of a fire. There will be no deterrent, and no return threat. The fox is in the hen house and no way to get’em out.

The 18th Amendment and the Volstead Act (its enabling Federal Legislation) did not outlaw alcohol possession.
They did outlaw import, production, distribution, export, and sale of “intoxicating liquors”. Commercial production and sale of certain beverages of lower ethanol content was still permitted. So was home production of beverages (not for sale) under certain circumstances. Possession and consumption were not Federally regulated, except under ordnances already governing such activities (public drunkenness etc: typically state & local law). Major exception was made for “medicinal alcohol” administered by physicians - an important part of medical treatment in those days.
Very much unlike the push for gun control, the ultimate aim of which is to remove all firearms from private hands except by prior permission of officialdom, managed by government agencies. Much more totalitarian.
Prohibition and modern gun control are often equated but they don’t resemble each other all that closely. One big common factor: both have been foisted on the wider society by the Progressive Left, which sees such as cure-alls.

The headline is misleading or not complete. She does not want to ban all guns. She would fight to the last the disarming of the police. What she wishes to do is take the guns away from the general public[You, me. and us].She wants guns for her and hers but not for we and thee. That makes it easier for them to herd us to the boxcars when that day comes. Watch some of the videos on youtube of the Germans rounding up the Jews from their homes and loading them on trains for the camps. The Germans have firearms plus a dog here and there. The Jews have none. Always remember Mr. Badger, A Government that will take the guns from its Citizens is a Government that will return to take the lives of its Citizens.
A government that fears its own citizens is doing something wrong.....................
