A charity event planned in honor of an officer killed in a 2018 mass shooting at a country music bar in in Southern California has been postponed indefinitely -- reportedly because a police chief didn't want Republicans invited.
The Blue Bowl, a charity flag football game, was intended to raise money for the family of fallen Ventura County Sgt. Ron Helus as well as other officers killed in the line of duty, FOX 11 of Los Angeles reported.
Helus died last Nov. 7, when a 28-year-old suspect allegedly attacked the Borderline Bar and Grill in Thousand Oaks, killing a total of 13 people and wounding about a dozen others. The suspect died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound, authorities have said.

But, but, I thought California was the home of strict gun control and given that, that incident should not have taken place?

So, a charity event meant to honor and raise funds for a fallen policeman has been cancelled because some as*hole of a Police Chief didn’t want Republicans there.
File this under, “You have GOT to be f’n kidding me!”

With that kind of behavior, we’re headed for civil war. People are so stupid.

In the Los Angeles area? Hell, it is a requirement for senior ranks.

It’s because there’s still free states nearby. You can’t expect tyranny to work while people still have choices. [/ lib mode]

were headed for civil war
This is an absurd comment. There is zero chance of this in this or even the next generation.
The only slim chance this would occur would be due to the suspension of entitlement payments or door to door firearm confiscation, neither of which will happen.

The LA City Council passes a law preventing police from dismantling the trash heaps that homeless people build on the sidewalks and then they demand federal help to deal with the sicknesses caused by vermin living in their heaps. Not a cent of federal money for these fools!

Apparently, the Chief’s Oath of Office to faithfully enforce the laws has an exception for the First Amendment, and whatever equivalent provision exists in the California Constitution. Who will be next Chief - Jews, Asians or some other group? It is amazing the Chief is so blinded by hatred that he can’t see how destructive his belief system has become. Meanwhile, the immediate victims are the widow and her son. I imagine they are collateral damage in the fight for “freedom” in California.

Unless the fallen police officer’s family requested that he cancel the event, that police chief needs to lose his job.
Besides being an idiot, he has denied the family of Sgt. Ron Helus the charitable funds they would have received.
