An upcoming HBO Max series from Ava DuVernay will depict the United States in the grips of a second American Civil War, with the federal government battling secessionist forces called the Free State armies.

Deadline reported Tuesday that DMZ has received a pilot order from HBO Max, the upcoming streaming service from Warner Media. The show, based on the DC Comics title of the same name that debuted in 2005, takes place in what was formerly New York but is now a demilitarized zone.

Sort of. Our “Civil War” was really a war of secession; southern states wanting to leave the Union. In the case of Spain it was actually a civil war just like the one in England during the Sixteen hundreds.

With the exception of a few, both political parties hate Trump and America and want to reform her into a globalist image. So, I think it would be between patriots scattered all over versus a large federal beast.

The concept of “liberal” and “conservative” as we see it today cannot be applied to 1776 in any meaningful way whatsoever.

No, I suppose it can't, but what can be applied is the fact of a gross imbalance of power.

And despite living in New York State have Southern accents that make the crew from Deliverance sound like BBC newsreaders.

I have a hard time believing that scenario. It would involve our military and state national guard units attacking citizens. I know about Waco and Ruby Ridge and Kent State. Would that be the same? If anything, it’d be like guerilla warfare but then the US military is better equipped to handle it than the average citizen and their personal guns.

CW2 would result in a good amount of that equipment disappearing. There would be divided loyalties within all branches of the armed forces.

The show is a modern day Civil War.

But is there any doubt, conservatives leading the government are the bad guys?

I think that it could be done by Expulsion, that is to say that Counties or states that violate Federal Law that engage in wide scale voter fraud and whose culture is a cancer on the rest of the republic have to go. Such states lose voter privileges and representation in the Federal Government. They can keep Commonwealth status and the Federal Government will keep facilities that belong to it such as naval ports and transportation hubs. Those good counties in such expulsed states can file to exit and either be included in a neighboring state or constitute a new state that is still part of the Republic. The net effect is that we keep the Republic and they get butkis.
