When I was a kid, I lived in Spain when my dad was stationed there in the Air Force.
We lived in a small town close the base. The back garden had a 12 foot wall mud-packed walled around it.
Security was pieces of broken glass embedded in the top on the wall.
Kept out the riffraff.

A few years ago; every Friday, after noon, one could hear and finally see a couple of A-10s down on the deck; flying the length of high voltage transmission lines over my property; one about 5-10 seconds behind the other.
