Once again, Mitt Romney seems to be souring on Donald Trump

Mitt Romney — not for the first time — has reversed field when it comes to Donald Trump. This time, his change of heart is a good thing.

The former Massachusetts governor, now a first-term US senator from Utah, has emerged as the most prominent Congressional Republican to question Trump’s dealings with Ukraine, implicitly supporting an impeachment inquiry.

Being Mitt, his comments have been carefully calibrated: he is “deeply troubled” rather than outraged; he has called on other members of his party to “search their hearts and do what’s right” rather than supporting a particular course of action.

But even those steps stand in contrast to other Republicans, whose first instinct has been to circle the wagons around a president they clearly fear.

The GOTV effort by the RNC in 2016 was second to none - Priebus did very well overseeing that (as he had previously done in making the GOP a strong force in Wisconsin) and he had a lot to rebuild after the Michael Steele debacle where the apparatus totally had dried up - he was awful. That is why Trump chose Priebus as Chief of Staff, but he was clearly ill-suited for that job.

She was President Trump’s pick to be RNC Chair.

Ronna McDaniel is begging for donations to the RNC under the guise of "supporting President Trump."

She was picked for that position by President Trump himself.

In a show of bipartisanship, for the forthcoming arrests, I hope Mitt Romney is the first politician arrested for treason.

I know. Apparently she’s a Trump loyalist. It doesn’t matter to me. I don’t donate to the RNC anyway ... and pricks like her Uncle Mitt are the reason why.

Who are these brainiacs at the Boston Globe who are just figuring out the Romney doesn’t like Trump? Where have they been?

Mitt Romney’s inner Hillary is leaking out out his diaper. Even Algore was more civic minded than this scuttry running down his leg.

Mitt Romney's the new ‘McCain’... the press can reliable run to him to trash fellow Republicans. Flake's reliable but he's basically a private citizen now... so Romney's their man.

Just out of curiosity, who's the Democrat the press reliably runs to when they need someone to bash a democrat?

LOL - just kidding. The press would NEVER have need of a democrat willing to bash a democrat... Woodword and Berstein - stenographers to disgruntled FBI agents.

Cruz and Romney...A Tale of two Senators, namely, Maturity and Immaturity.

In many ways Cruz had even more justifiable reasons to play the spoiled brat role than Romney as a result of the 2016 GOP primary race. Yet for the good of the country, observe how mature, responsible and positive Cruz’s behavior has been over the last nearly 3 years. Methinks this difference provides a window into Romney’s heart and mind. Much like McCain he is literally consumed by petty personal animus and incapable of ever seeing the bigger picture...which encompasses what is the good for the country.

Romney was CEO of a major investment firm and Governor of Massachusetts. At age 72 he is the junior Senator from Utah. Being a junior member of a club of 100 massive ego’s can’t be very satisfying for someone used to being in charge.

Given his age, if he still harbors presidential ambitions he needs to run in 2020 as he will be almost 74 when the candidate elected president in 2020 takes office. For Romney to win the GOP nomination in 2020, Trump has to resign, die, or be forced from office.

If Trump is impeached and removed from office, the RINO’s will be selecting the nominee. Romney would be very popular with the press, and the Trump backstabbers in the establishment if he takes the lead in opposing Trump in the Senate trial. The moderate to liberal donor class likes him. He is positioned as a moderate, not a conservative, so the party elites will believe he can appeal to independents. The business community will much prefer him to Elizabeth Warren or another socialist. Romney can run as the candidate to heal the nation’s wounds.

If the press and Democrats are successful in driving down Trump’s poll numbers, expect Romney to forcefully oppose Trump and work to bring him down. He knows he can’t beat Trump head to head in GOP primaries. However, he is certainly capable of fighting for an empty seat.

This idiot still has delusions of being POTUS. He thinks that if PDJT goes down then he has another shot.

Even if PDJT did go down, Mitt is too dumb to know nobody is remotely interested.

Mitt Romney is as jealous of Donald Trump as Hillary Clinton is and for the same reason. He is also as big a slimeball as Hillary Clinton.

His little buddy, Jeffy Snowflake, is still having nightmares about his being confronted by the two “wise Latinas” in the elevator. He’ll never be right in the head again.

See, the way this works is that there needs to be a constant flow of negativity that makes it appear the Republicans are abandoning Trump. Since a new one hasn’t come forward — and Kasich turned out to be a bust — they recycle sh**head’s name.

Someone needs to dig Mittens dirt back to his hatching. Expose the vermin & let Utah recall him or whatever can be done to rectify their mistake.
