The FDA recently announced that ranitidine (Zantac), contains low levels of a substance (NDMA) that could cause cancer.
The blood pressure medication—Losartan was pulled off the marrket in the last year, for the same reason.
Not all Losarten was pulled. A specific one with an additive was pulled.
According to the geniuses in California, everything causes cancer.
Here come the lawsuits....
And the ads on TV from attorneys seeking clients...
Seems that every time a new drug is advertised on TV, there’s a micro print paragraph on the bottom of the screen describing all of the horrible things this drug may potentially due to you. Including death. Why do people take these drugs?
...I mean liver failure, stomach bleeding, heart stoppage. ..just to name a few.
Some context:
“the substance is found in the environment and the amount of it detected in Zantac is similar to that found in bacon, and processed meats.”
They have to do it because maybe one person in a hundred thousand suffered from that side effect so they have to advertise the fact.
Maybe because marijuana is class A narcotic, according to the Feds.
“Why do people take these drugs?”
Why do people get out of bed when there is risk of death and injury in doing so?
It’s too bad that the side effects are always bad. You never hear them say, “Possible side effects include improved vision, clear skin, and firmer erections.”
Don’t forget toe fungus.
I take Losartn so I do not die from blood pressure issues and it is one of the few that work for me. Zantac never worked for my GERD, or I would likely have been taking that. The risk of side effects is weighed between you and your doctor, if you have proper teamwork.
Viagra was developed as a heart medicine and doctors tell girls that birth control pills will clear up their acne.
The only people safe from these environmental pollutants are aborted babies. /sarcasm
The quality control of Chinese-made medicines is terrible. Why anybody would choose to manufacture in China is a mystery.
Think of the number of Zantac commercials you see on a daily basis. That drug has been marketed non-stop for years. Now, all that money is down the drain because then had to cut costs by 3 cents a pill.
At this point, it makes sense to kill the brand. There are too many other options available, and the Zantac name will never recover.
If I may, these heartburn drugs only alleviate the symptoms and not the problem. The problem is low acid level in the stomach. Drinking a small cup of vinegar will add acid to your stomach to help it digest the food. ALso, pickles work well.
We BURN food. If you don’t have enough acid in your stomach, the food SMOLDERS. That smoldering is the smoke that irritates your stomach and gives you heartburn. The source of the PROBLEM is INDIGESTION.
The risk of side effects is weighed between you and your doctor, if you have proper teamwork.
