It would be understandable if President Trump wakes up troubled these days by four words bouncing around his head: “Loose lips sink ships.”
Understandable — and advisable. The World War II warning against careless talk carries a personal meaning for the beleaguered president. Beset by a hostile media and a ruthless opposition party, Trump now must be careful about every word he says, privately and publicly.
The walls, including in the White House, have ears.
That was demonstrated in spades last week, most dramatically by the allegations from a CIA officer that Trump used a phone call with the president of Ukraine to solicit foreign help in the 2020 campaign. That allegation and others led to a fiery congressional hearing and spurred Democrats to quicken their pace toward impeachment.
A second instance of snooping made the “loose lips” point less sensationally but was still disturbing. Before he left the United Nations Thursday, Trump attended a private event to thank the new American ambassador, Kelly Craft, and her staff for their work during the General Assembly session.
Some privacy. The president said, “I want to know who’s the person, who’s the person who gave the whistleblower the information? Because that’s close to a spy.”
We know he said that and more because someone at the event, maybe more than one person, secretly recorded his remarks, both audio and video, and promptly leaked them to the media.
When it comes to brickbats, Trump is perhaps the most battle-tested occupant the Oval Office has ever known, yet the two incidents demonstrate that the war against him has entered a vicious new phase. Efforts to end his presidency, one way or another, have reached a fever pitch, and Trump would be foolish to assume they will fail. His margin for error is approximately zero.

I remember a time, during the Waco disaster, when people were complaining and disrespecting those government agencies, I thought those complainers were tin-foil hat crazy.

Brennan and his master Obama hated candidate Trump, Trump as our elected president and then President Trump.
The CIA should be phased out, people retired or sent to prison if they fail lie detector tests. Tests leading to being found guilty of treason for an attempted coup to remove our President.
A coup based on lies from them and their allies around the world.
Their coup leader, Brennan, should be tried/found guilty and hung from a light post outside of the vacant/closed CIA.
Then, leave his rotting body on the sidewalk after it falls apart post hanging. Let the critters clean and scatter his bones.
Put Clapper in a cage and place him below Brennan’s hanging body. Keep him in that cage 24/7 until Brennan is just a memory. Then send him to Gitmo to stay in that cage for the rest of his miserable life.

I still don’t think there is a “CIA agent whistleblower.”
I think that is a distraction from the real culprits who sponsored and prepared the COMPLAINT.
Obama weaponized every intelligence and security agency to both meet his agenda and counter all opposition to meet his marxist muslim totalitarian “death to America” program.

That way it is primarily controlled by the U.S. military. I would feel a lot better about their loyalties and oaths.
I’ve read elsewhere that aside from secretaries, just about all CIA people are “at-will.” The CIA clearly exists to overthrow the President. It has already demonstrated its power over Congress.
This is war, and PDJT cannot allow these traitors to continue to undermine him. Clear out the top floors of the CIA, FBI, DOJ in one day. Any yes, indictments of course.

Haspel is either corrupt or the job is too much for her. Toss her out and get someone who is up to the job. And no, I’m not sexist, I’m a woman who cheered when she was promoted and I’m totally disgusted and disappointed with her inability to do anything about a rogue agency.

Yup. The president has a well entrenched, powerful opponent. The outcome, one way or the other is not certain.
