State Dept. intensifies email probe of Hillary Clinton’s former aides
WAPO ^ | 9/28/2019 | GreGG MILLER

Posted on 09/28/2019 6:21:01 PM PDT by bitt

The Trump administration is investigating the email records of dozens of current and former senior State Department officials who sent messages to then-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s private email, reviving a politically toxic matter that overshadowed the 2016 election, current and former officials said.

As many as 130 officials have been contacted in recent weeks by State Department investigators — a list that includes senior officials who reported directly to Clinton as well as others in lower-level jobs whose emails were at some point relayed to her inbox, said current and former State Department officials. Those targeted were notified that emails they sent years ago have been retroactively classified and now constitute potential security violations, according to letters reviewed by The Washington Post.

In virtually all of the cases, potentially sensitive information, now recategorized as “classified,” was sent to Clinton’s unsecure inbox.

State Department investigators began contacting the former officials about 18 months ago, after President Trump’s election, and then seemed to drop the effort before picking it up in August, officials said.

Senior State Department officials said that they are following standard protocol in an investigation that began during the latter days of the Obama administration and is nearing completion.

“This has nothing to do with who is in the White House,” said a senior State Department official, who spoke on the condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to speak publicly about an ongoing probe. “This is about the time it took to go through millions of emails, which is about 3½ years.”

“The Trump administration is investigating the email records of dozens of current and former senior State Department officials who sent messages to then-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s private email...”

washingtonpost.com/national-secur…

Oh heck yeah

“As many as 130 officials have been contacted in recent weeks by State Department investigators — a list that includes senior officials who reported directly to Clinton as well as others in lower-level jobs whose emails were at some point relayed to her inbox....”

Apparently this investigation started during the Obama administration and is now nearing completion. I wonder if this falls under Huber’s authority and what he’s been up to.

The Washington Post ignores that it started under the Obama Administration and tries to say that it’s evidence of President Trump targeting his political opponents.

It’s painfully clear that our corrupt media will use this excuse anytime a Democrat crime is exposed now.

The Washington Post then goes on to LIE about President Trump and claim he pressured the President of Ukraine, even though he didn’t, and ties it to this investigation, even though it started three years ago. Absolutely pathetic.

“State Department officials vigorously denied there was any political motivation behind their actions...”

“The process is set up in a manner to completely avoid any appearance of political bias,”

You guys, you’ll never believe this. The Washington Post has an anonymous “former senior U.S. official” quoted in the article blaming this all on Republicans. Shocking, I know.

Looks like Senator Chuck Grassley has been asking Secretary Pompeo to complete this review and report back to Congress.

Of course, The Washington Post thinks that Congress should only exist to investigate President Trump and no one else so they have an issue with it.

The Washington Post then completely ignores that President Trump has ultimate declassification powers and compares him choosing to declassify information to Hillary Clinton illegally handling classified information, because they are corrupt hacks that lie for a living.

NOW THIS IS INTERESTING!

The list of people being questions also includes “dozens of current and former career bureaucrats who served as conduits for outside officials trying to get important messages to Clinton.”

Oh boy! This sounds promising!

“Those targeted began receiving letters in August, saying, “You have been identified as possibly bearing some culpability” in supposedly newly uncovered “security incidents,” according to a copy of one letter obtained by The Washington Post.”

Would you look at that!

“In many cases, the incidents appear to center on the sending of information attributed to foreign officials, including summaries of phone conversations with foreign diplomats.”

It’s ok though, The Washington Post reviewed some of the emails and they say they don’t contain sensitive or classified information. Just trust them, nothing to see here.

After the Washington Post says that there’s nothing sensitive or classified in the emails they reviewed, they quote officials involved in the investigation saying the exact opposite of that.

Then The Washington Post quotes anonymous people that have been questioned as part of this investigation relaying hearsay about the investigators and claiming that they were pressured to do this.

The new media buzzword is “pressured”

Some of the people questioned have received followup letters saying they don’t “bear any individual culpability” but that doesn’t mean that someone else doesn’t face any legal issues arising from mishandling of classified information.

This article has literally nothing to do with President Trump yet The Washington Post has put multiple paragraphs in here lying about the Ukraine hoax. These people are so desperate and corrupt.

And would you look at that, this all started to heat up in August. Exactly when the partisan “whistleblower” started spreading his fake dossier around. I’m sure that’s just a coincidence.

And the Washington Post chose to drop this article at 7 PM on a Saturday night. Hmmmmmm

The article doesn’t say anything about Huber or Durham or IG Horowitz but I’m wondering if we’re not starting to see the first of the media leaks trying to get out ahead of all of those investigations. This is definitely something to keep an eye on for sure. /end

ADDENDUM:

The article said this all started heating up in August so I’m guessing that’s got to be the reason Hillary Clinton pulled her little stunt of reading her emails at that art exhibit too.

Hillary Clinton leafs through her emails for nearly an hour at resolute desk in art exhibit

Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton spent nearly an hour leafing through some of her emails on display at an art exhibit in Italy.

OK, now we have this...

Also on Friday, George Papadopoulos shared via his twitter account: “AG Barr has been on official travel in Italy for the past two days.” Referencing a possibility the Attorney General was in Italy for an interview with the mysterious Maltese professor/Western intelligence asset at the center of 2016’s ‘spygate’, Joseph Mifsud.

OK, Italy + Italy = what exactly?

I must be behind the curve on this one, can anyone break this down?

***

The issue with the Left and their media is never 'was a crime or a security breach perpetrated?' - but rather 'why is this (these) misdeed(s) being investigated?'

The 'rats are clearly establishing a new justice principle: they define what is justice. If they say you are guilty you must overwhelmingly prove your innocence (Prez Trump, Justice Kavanaugh). If they say you are innocent you can take that to the bank (Keith Ellison, AG of Minnesota, and what's-his-name, the second to the governor of Virginia.)

The Dem 'rat Party must be soundly defeated for all time!

Only 130 people contacted. Why that’s not even a quorum of the traitors Obama/Clinton had working for them to subvert the government of the United States, even before Trump ran for the presidency.

It is absolutely astonishing about how this story, which actually is a tidbit of real news about the Barr investigation, is used by the WAPO to repeat all of the fake news over the last three years about Trump. This tells me that Barr is right over the target.

This will soon be shut down by a third handed whistle blower report. Now we know why the rules were changed from first hand observation to anyone that hears a rumor can be a whistleblower.

Syncro. If you put a tm behind the word you get an instant trademark giving you a year to file it. As long as you can demonstrate that you used it first. Its difficult to prove otherwise.

That’s interesting, I did not know that.

That statement is just part of the picture, and not a serious comment.

That being said, I have done copyrights on much of my original material.

All I did was put lists in envelopes addressed to my self and mailed. They have remained un-opened, some for decades.

Notice my next post where I gave a HT to SERKIT, who originally posted it on FR.
