RALEIGH, N.C. — As students marched in locales around the world Friday to demand action to fight climate change, protesters disrupted a meeting in Raleigh to update state plans to cut greenhouse gas emissions by 40 percent by 2025.

Gov. Roy Cooper set the ambitious goal a year ago and created a state Climate Change Interagency Council to help meet it.

"This is an imperative for this administration," he said Friday.

While the Southern Environmental Law Center, the League of Conservation Voters and other environmental advocates praised the plan, some protesters called it a "greenwash" that doesn't go far enough.

NC's Liberal Governor Cooper's climate change directives do not go far enough according to protesters.

One wonders if the protesters are funded by the three millionaires described here:

That or by Soros.

Either way NC is in for trouble if the protesters get their way.

***greenhouse gas emissions***

Reminds me of the old days of the 1960s and THE GREENHOUSE EFFECT was going to heat up the atmosphere!

Then in the 1970s it was THE COMING ICE AGE!

Exactly.

I am an eyewitness to the dire warnings about the coming ice age. I was in a Geography class at UNC Chapel HIll in 1970 when we were told by the professor that there was coming an ice age on the world during which millions would die.......

Seems I missed the ice age that cometh.

“As students marched in locales around the world Friday to demand action to fight climate change,”

This is easy. Tell the kids the bus they arrived on is responsible for climate change, along with the horrible materials mined to provide the battery for their smartphones. Have them walk home without their smartphones. Voila, No more protest!

We are in the geologic period called the Quaternary a period of cyclic continental glaciations. We left one major glaciation roughly 22,000 years ago. We are in a “warming lull” - civilization happened. Humans have no control over this.

In addition to that, we’re on the downside of the interglacial period. Most last @18,000 years, with some a little shorter or longer, so there’s about 7000 years to figure out how to stop a mile-high ice sheet from scrubbing Chicago off the face of the earth.

Good luck to our descendants!
