In cases where palliative treatment is not enough to keep the pain in a tolerable zone, I would agree with this.
I know there is a danger of such policy being abused.
A clear, simple and well publicized protocol on who qualifies may reduce any such abuses.

That someone or something cannot tolerate it?

If my body cannot tolerate some pain, what does it do?

If the pain is ‘intolerable” . . .

back in the old dads, people would die more natural deaths because they wouldn't be taking their medicines nor eating nor drinking.....not drinking alone would pretty much send them off to heaven in several days.....

but no, we have to shove feeding tubes down people and give them multiple IV antibiotics via a chest port because you know its a great sin for someone 88 yrs old to die so young.....

stop eating, stop drinking, refuse antibiotics and take whatever pain meds you have.....one doesn't have to have a law to do that.....
