For Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, the very notion that President Donald Trump could be deserving of impeachment seemed "laughable"
After having read a summary of the July phone call between Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky that sparked House Democrats' impeachment inquiry into the president, McConnell said on Wednesday that it was "laughable to think this is anywhere close to an impeachable offense."
"If this is the 'launching point' for House Democrats' impeachment process, they've already overplayed their hand," the Senate Majority Leader said.

but, but, but Jeff Flake says he’s talked to 35 GOP U.S. Senators that would vote to impeach Trump if they only could do it in secret ...
about frigging time
Mitchs ball may have finally descended
Meanwhile, the GOP in the senate has been pushing judges in.. hmm... this thing has to be DOA on arrival if House actually impeaches. Any republican who voted to remove would be done. So, what is the Dems actual game plan?
“if they only could do it in secret”
But they can’t.
LOL!
“So, what is the Dems actual game plan?”
There is no game plan. Pelosi launched the impeachment inquiry in response to AOC’s angry tweets over the weekend. The Dem party is being run by a 29 year old bartender from the Bronx.
Brain dead 29 year old from the bronx.
I like this version of Mitch McConnell. We need to see more of him standing up to the left this way.
I liken this latest impeachment snafu to Hitler’s last ditch effort at the Battle of the Bulge. Nothing left now for the left, they’re completely bankrupt of ideas for a winning strategy.
i dont think the media and the dems realize who they are ffin around with here...they think Trump will just sit there hope they dont do this??..No that guy with 63 million twitters followers. I can def see him calling for a massive protest on Washington the week of an actual vote...and they come armed. This could get real real nasty...and id love it. They better be careful...all im sayin.
Laughable, but for the fact that we’re dealing with utterly humorless people. This crap is ginning up the worst elements on the left. A Trump re-election, or the replacement of RBG, will result in some serious venting, I think.
Is Newsweek going to have the audacity to imply that the Clintons have some resemblance to President Trump???
It’s the Clintons, for Heaven’s sake. We/I suffered through his immoral behavior for eight years. He was a typical dim with no ethics and NO saving graces.
DO NOT DARE COMPARE THE CLINTON CRIME SYNDICATE WITH ANY...ANY REPUBLICAN.
I notice there are no Democrats laughing lately. Odd, since they are so certain that Trump will be defeated in 2020.
Finally the ridicule they are worthy of.
A laughable joke is what the demoncrap party is.
What I don’t get is why don’t the republicans in the senate start investigations into Biden’s and son unquestioned blackmailing and criminal influence peddling with Ukraine? That’s where the real scandal is.
Why is McConnell letting Pelosi and the Rats steal all the bandwidth? Don’t they know this is war?
It is those behind this “29 year old bartender from the Bronx.” Namely, George Soros of the OCCRP:
JOE DIGENOVA: This whistle-blower needs to go to prison. He doesn’t need to be feted, he needs to go to prison.
VICTORIA TOENSING: Sean, Sean — I want to jump in here too, and just —
SEAN HANNITY (HOST): Victoria.
TOENSING: — On, on this false statements, how did that work? U.S. and other people made false statements about him, yeah, that was George Soros-funded NGOs who were also in bed with the State Department. They were in bed with each other during that time, in the name of anti-corruption and it really means that Soros goes after his competitors.
Now, let me bring this full circle, this is my last point here. The whistle-blower sprinkles throughout his documents footnotes referring to a publication with the initials “OCCRP.” One guess, Sean, who funds OOCRP? George Soros.
HANNITY: Wow. Alright, Joe, Victoria —
DIGENOVA: Soros’ dirty money is all over this story from day one.
TOENSING: And all over Ukraine and he still has embedded people at the State Department.
HANNITY: We have a lot of — lot of ground to cover in the days to come. Thank you both.
They’ve been most of the way dropped since he’s gotten every judge confirmed.
Yeah i know THAT’S his job.
How many Rs would do the same in his position?
