The left is elevating a “special needs child” as a role model for other children. I am sorry but that is a sign of a culture in decline more than those who point out that this is ludicrous.
I would remind you that “special needs” is a euphemism used to categorize an entire spectrum of people. The left’s favored euphemisms become the future's dirty words. Every presidential candidate that the Democrats have so far is “special needs” by many measures. But who is being insulted by pointing this out? The mentally retarded population (which once was a clinical term) or the candidates? It is kind of hard to say, but I would prefer the company of a bunch of mentally challenged people over a deceitful pack of idiots.

She's a clearly not-right child being used by parents and environmentalists. The adults are no doubt HAPPY that she's drawing fire and they're not getting beat up - they now have the "upper hand" in bemoaning how the right-wing "goes after children."
Now, we have to spend time saying no, we don't go after children blah blah or saying well, yea, we DO go after SOME children regardless if they are on the spectrum or have cancer or whatever.
The smart tactic would have been to attack the adults and bemoan the morals of statists who use children as virtual human shields. I bet you the parents, now taking fire, would start unraveling and say stuff like "shouldn't you be attacking our daughter?"
