I couldn’t do that every weekend! LOL Just working at the museum is enough with all the walking we do.
We sat at the Republican Women’s tent at the festival but also walked around quite a bit. It was a lot of fun and worth feeling a little sluggish for a couple of days.
Now the “fun” of getting things ready for Hubby’s buddies this weekend begins. A couple more things to do to get the other house ready since they’ll be staying there, plus I need to decide exactly what we aren’t going to leave there when we move in. The guys are going to help Hubby move that stuff out while they’re here. I’m getting ready to head over there now to do a little. Just wanted to see the 10:00 news and weather first.
Yep, gettin’ old ain’t what they cracked it up to be. We run out of steam too quickly. LOL
Either way, don't work too hard, LOL.
There’s another house here that was built for Hubby’s Aunt Martha in ‘90 and we plan to eventually move over there. Hubby’s the holdup ..... he tore out a wall and hasn’t finished getting everything straightened out from that yet.
Being newer, it’s better insulated and will be cheaper to heat and cool - and more comfortable, which is why I’ve pushed for this move for several years.
We’ll use some of the furniture that’s there and move a few pieces from here whenever we get to the point of moving. Getting the stuff out now that we won’t use is a step in the right direction. The guys are coming up to buy car parts from Hubby and said they’d help while they’re here. That’s great because I can’t help move the heavy stuff.
We’re on a burn ban list...in spite of this rain.
Make sure you pay attention to your home foundation and the one at Martha’s. When we were under drought conditions...and also in OK...people’s foundations started sinking and cracking and had to be jacked back up. It was a real mess and very expensive.
Keep us informed.
There’s always a burn ban here from Oct. til April. They just started it early since we’re so dry. We aren’t in drought condition so the foundations aren’t a concern at this point. We’ve had drought summers in the past and had no problems then either. We had a wet year up until this month so we should be ok in the long run. Just don’t want any wildfires set off.
LOL! Yep, it’ll take several trips since we don’t have 36 carriers to haul them all at once. Only have three. It’s only a couple hundred feet so no biggie.
The pain will be moving appliances. The fridge over there is fairly new but the other appliances aren’t. We’ll go ahead and take what’s in here and won’t have to worry about it later on. Hubby’s cousin and a couple other buddies will be on hand to help with that.
Wildfires would be awful! Smart of them to issue the burn ban. When do you have any kind of a chance of rain? Hope it’s soon!
How's everyone doing this morning?
Wildfires sure ARE awful and we don’t want any if it can be helped.
There’s a 20% chance for rain Wed. and Thurs. - they SAY - but when the chances are that low, we most likely won’t get any here. We need a large, strong system to move through and there aren’t any out there.
Back over to the other house. Had to wash some towels Hubby had dirtied and since the dryer over there doesn’t work, I had to dry them here. Now need to take them back over there and do a little more work.

Hope you and Gizmo had a large time yesterday!
Swapped digital TV for a faster Internet yesterday. I cut the cable and got an Internet plan upgrade to 65 MBPS. The pages such as this one load a little faster now.
Ok. See ya next time...for the quiz, I reckon. Hope you DO get your 20%! You now need it way worse than we do.
Did ya stop by General Dynamics - Ordinance and Tactical Division? Its only 15miles from the depot. They have a pretty impressive machine shop making all kinds of stuff that helps keep our enemies on the run..
