Julianne Hough recently posed nude on the cover of a magazine but what she said during her interview was far more revealing than the photos. Now, Hough is reflecting about coming out as not straight, and how the admission has affected her sense of self.
The Americas Got Talent judge opened up about her marriage to husband Brooks Laich during the interview and made headlines when she recalled a conversation shed had with him. I [told him], You know Im not straight, right? Hough told Womens Health. And he was like, Im sorry, what? I was like, Im not. But I choose to be with you.'
While Hough did not flat-out say she identifies as bisexual, the fact that she publicly identifies as not straight despite the fact that shes currently in a marriage with a man matters. Its a major step in the fight against bi-erasure, and opening up about her sexuality has helped Hough feel like shes finally living her most authentic life as well.
I have never felt more like a woman in my life, and Ive always been the girl next door, all-American sweetheart. And thats a version and a part of me, but its not all of who I am, and I didnt even know that about me. So the last few years have been about me picking up all parts of who I am and the parts that Ive suppressed over probably 25 years, the dancer said, as People reports.
She also shared that deciding to come out to her husband was tough. I was connecting to the woman inside that doesnt need anything, versus the little girl that looked to him to protect me, she told People. I was like, Is he going to love this version of me? But the more I dropped into my most authentic self, the more attracted he was to me.
Publicly embracing her sexuality has clearly made Hough feel empowered in a whole new way. To that effect, she recently released her first single in ten years, and its called fittingly enough Transform.
For two years I have been picking those pieces up, nurturing them and transforming them. Im not trying to change who I am or suppress those parts of me anymore but instead, I acknowledge them, take them and TRANSFORM them, Hough wrote in a recent Instagram post in honor of the single. As I was doing that in my daily life, I realized all of a sudden that my creativity, my life blood, the entire essence of WHO I AM was coming ALIVE.
Her brother I suspect is batting for the other side.
Both good dancers. Look at her eyes.
She has those crazy eyes.
#5 Next she will start carrying around a small dog and adopt a black child. Later she will have the child determine it’s gender.....
But the more I dropped into my most authentic self, the more attracted he was to me.
He was thinking, A threesome? Like in the letters to Penthouse? That might be .......
LMAO! She’s a “jack” Mormon. That explains everything.
Pictures or it didn’t happen.
Would like to know what the dogs are thinking
“you know Im not monogamous, right?
This show is on tonight
Will it be about global warming?
I don’t get abc.
She’s 31. The spotlight and the attention is moving on to younger starlets. This is a desperate ploy to regain some of it.
These are the women who are generally drunk and thinking about jumping off a ledge at 50. Pray for her.
“...Turns out shes been spending too much time shucking clams....”
Remove the “h” from “shucking”, repeat the sentence, and you’re spot-on...
“All the cool kids are LGBT and I just want to be adored”.
She must have suppressed a lot of her true feelings towards males due to having her brother as a dance partner since childhood. Now it’s a habit.
BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hey it’s Officer Chubs from “Fargo” season 1.
I noted the show but did not watch it, looks weird.
The kid had a chip implanted. Behind her ear. She cut it out with a razor knife.
I don’t get abc. Will watch on web when I can.
Can’t get a signal?
Try Locast, it’s free
It has Boston and NY, I don’t know if you fall in either market
Nope. Says not avail.
I used to get ABC NEW HAVEN and Abc Springfield MA. before all went digital. Now I get neither.
Have you seen “Evil” on CBS? I watched the pilot and recommend. Katja Herbers.
I had to google “Julianne Hough” to even see who the hell she is and as to “Evil,” whenever CBS offers up anything remotely concerning religion, I avoid it as I would a plague of locusts!
Nope, only the commercials during Y&R and B&B.
