A U.S. Marine who abandoned his base with several weapons to “get rid of child traffickers at the border” has been found at a Texas rest stop. Job Wallace, a Marine Corps Lance Corporal, did not return to base at Camp Pendleton in California after his authorized leave ended on Sept. 17. A day later, an automatic rifle, an M14 rifle, a semi-automatic shotgun, and a pistol, all belonging to Wallace, were reported missing, according to an FBI report obtained by The Young Turks. “Wallace… may pose a threat of violence towards law enforcement or civilians,” the report said.

I suspect the weapons wear issued to him, they probably actually belong to Uncle Sam.
However well intentioned his cause may be Uncle Sam takes a dim view on AWOL and weapon theft. He’s looking at a stint in the big house. Hope he doesn’t do something really stupid and get in a shootout with authorities.

The M14 is a pre Vietnam war weapon no longer issued unless you’re sniper qualified. Then again all muskets and long g rifles are assault weapons when issued in their time line. I wonder how beta o’Rourke would have reacted when the introduction of the Kentucky rifle was introduced in the revolution against the king? That assault rifle caused war to go in the favor of the young America.

Story said weapons belonged to him. I doubt any Marine is issued such a variety of weapons. I think Scout Sbipers have transitioned to a new weapon. To whom are pistols issued along with semi auto shotguns? So it is possible the weapons are his and the auto rifle simply misidentified.
At any rate, he’s been located and taken into custody.
A Valley man who never showed for service at Camp Pendleton found safe in Texas
UPDATE: Job Covey Wallace, 20, has been located safely and taken into custody without incident at a rest area in Navarro County, Texas, the Naval Criminal Investigative Service said Saturday night in a statement.
Wallace is being transported back to Camp Pendleton where he is stationed and will receive medical treatment, NCIS said.

It’s not like the library ? /s You’re right, I wasn’t thinking correctly and I was confused by the “reported missing “ . If they were his, who would report them as missing ? Then again, reported missing isn’t the same as reported stolen. At any rate the guy is on his way back and didn’t do any overly stupid besides the Unauthorized Absence. That will more than likely cost him some money.
