Almost two years ago, in 2017, I wrote you pleading for Oberlin College to seek an out-of-court settlement with the Gibson family (Gibsons Links Black People to Anti-Semitism, The Oberlin Review, Dec. 1, 2017). But nothing seemed to take place until it was announced in April that efforts had failed and that the case was going to trial this past May. It did, and the jury ruled in favor of the Gibson family.
Last week, I wrote again hoping that Oberlin College would appeal the local jurys decision to award millions of dollars to the Gibson family (College Should Respect Any Future Appeal Decision, The Oberlin Review, Sept. 13, 2019). But after receiving more information, I urge the College to try to get the family to accept a lower amount, if only symbolically, of just one dollar less. I now know that the transcript of almost 4,000 pages could bolster either partys position on appeal.
Regardless of the final outcome of this entire grueling and painful race, we must dash to embrace the opportunity to make all of Oberlin far greater than it has ever been. Even if we cannot easily forget, we must quickly forgive.
Gibberish. What the heck was the information?
First pay .Then heal.
Oberlin college tried to destroy a small business to further their political agenda, and refused to settle the case early on.
Screw them, I wouldn’t take one penny less than what has been awarded.
“Regardless of the final outcome of this entire grueling and painful race, we must dash to embrace the opportunity to make all of Oberlin far greater than it has ever been.”

Start by firing the administrators who got Oberlin into this mess in the first place.
Then pass out MAGA hats for the entire student body.
Oberlin thugs beat up on innocent small family business ... and they don’t want to ‘pay the price’ for being thugs... Boo hoo... so sad... /s
Screw healing. Let them suffer the consequence of their own fascist belligerence for years to come.

ie Resident charlatan and grifter.
“But after receiving more information, I urge the College to try to get the family to accept a lower amount, if only symbolically, of just one dollar less.”
Better yet, Oberlin College should voluntarily add an additional $10 million to the family’s award to show true repentance.
This would go a long way in healing the community.
If Oberlin really wanted to heal the community they would close the college and turn it into a homeless shelter.
Oberlin college is a stain on the ass of Northeast Ohio.
“If Oberlin really wanted to heal the community they would close the college and turn it into a homeless shelter.”
This.
Sounds like he kept urging the college to fight and try to destroy the Gibson’s. Now he’s urging the college to reach out to the Gibson’s to show forgiveness and let the community heal.
This is what’s wrong with SJWs. They are vicious and still too cowardly to accept the fate they have earned
” I urge the College to try to get the family to accept a lower amount, if only symbolically, of just one dollar less.”
A real genius Professor ... just one dollar less?
We always hear of “community healing” when the democrats lose political races, but we hear “F*** YOU!!!” when they win.
