“But after receiving more information, I urge the College to try to get the family to accept a lower amount, if only symbolically, of just one dollar less.”
Better yet, Oberlin College should voluntarily add an additional $10 million to the family’s award to show true repentance.
This would go a long way in healing the community.
If Oberlin really wanted to heal the community they would close the college and turn it into a homeless shelter.
