Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau pledged a ban on “military-grade” semiautomatic rifles in an attempt to redirect his campaign after his blackface controversy. City News reports that Trudeau announced the rifle ban on Friday in Greektown, Toronto, the area of the city in which a gunman shot 15 people, killing two, last year.
Trudeau said, “We know you do not need a military-grade assault weapon – one designed to kill the largest number of people in the shortest amount of time – to take down a deer.”
His ban includes a two-year amnesty for current owners of the rifles. He also wants a buyback so the government can pay owners when they hand their rifles over.
CBC quoted Trudeau saying, “People are dying. Families are grieving. Communities are suffering. So we’re going to do more and we’re going to do better. Thoughts and prayers are just not going to cut it. The choice could not be clearer: Liberals are for tougher gun laws, Conservatives are for weaker gun laws.

Faisal Hussain broke the law when he illegally obtained his handgun. He broke the law when he took it out to the Danforth (you are not allowed to carry in Canada). And obviously he broke the law when he used it to shoot and kill people. Junior seems to think there a magic threshold where if he had to break one more law, Hussain would have stayed home.

Overall, homicides committed with handguns are about triple those committed with long guns. I don’t know if StatsCan breaks those numbers down further for, say, shotguns, bolt-action rifles and semi-automatic rifles. Obviously that last category specifically would be smaller still.

I flew choppers in Vietnam. Pilots carried all kinds of captured stuff in the cockpit: AK’s (folding), M1 Thompson, Swedish K, CAR-15’s, M1A1 carbines, even PPSh’s & Type 50’s.
Saw a pistol made out of an M1 carbine. Also a pistol made out of an M79 grenade launcher.
I saw M1 carbines mainly with PRU’s (Provincial Recon Unit, aka Headhunters). Had an M2 briefly, finally found an AK downfolder. Wanted to smuggle that back so bad.
Decision time is coming soon.
I’m not holding my breath that Trudeau will lose. We have to plan for the worst.
That so-called “controversy” has barely even *DENTED* the popularity of The Chosen One® amongst his core of support (namely Millennials and Baby Boomer women). 338canada.com has his chances of election down by only a couple of percentage points. He’s still at 68.1% chance of winning a majority.
If anything, it appears to be hurting Andrew Scheer instead, as there have been a good number of MSM soundbites about how this whole thing has been ‘dirty tricks’ orchestrated by the Conservative Party, to smear “Dreamy” Justin.

If Trudeau wins, it’ll be decision time. Either the west separates, or one goes to the US. The problem is both sides of the border are under attack by the same globalists.
