Red Flag Laws: Too Good to Be True

We all know that if something looks too good to be true, it is.

Reasonable Americans can agree that no one who shouldn't have a gun should have one. Red flag laws, though, are peaceful slavery disguised as bipartisan utopianism, with even President Trump publicly supporting them.

Bipartisanship is often sold as doing what's right, but warm and fuzzy bipartisan agreements don't necessarily mean something good for the American people. Doing what's constitutional is what's right and correct, irrespective of whether it's bipartisan. It's almost the equivalent of legislating based on polls.

In my home state of Florida, both our U.S. senators, Marco Rubio and Rick Scott, support red flag laws. Rubio may be the most vocal cheerleader among Republican senators. That's why I named him my most recent Tessio Republican for my weekly video series. Inspired by Sal Tessio, from The Godfather, who betrays the Corleone family, a Tessio Republican is one who betrays America First voters and his constituents.

Possibly the header would be more correct as:

"Red flag laws: Too true to be good."

"...no one who shouldn't have a gun should have one..." Kinda question this also. Depends a lot on who the "decider" is on who "shouldn't" have a gun. I've seen plenty of fidiots that I thought shouldn't have a gun. But, I ain't the decider. Some may think I should be denied. Because I play guitar too loud? Because I hit wrong notes frequently? But, I get the authors point.

I suspect the red in Red Flag Laws refers to Republicans, see no Republicans can have guns, easy wasn’t it?

The catch is, how do you determine who shouldn’t have a gun? What is the basis?

Dems could decide that no Republican should have a gun, and go from there.

It has become too common that divorce lawyers get temp restraining orders on the man, often when not warranted.

Will they start doing this with red flag laws? You could lose your rights for 5 or 10 years in CA without due process.

Gun owners can become the news witches.

Dunk them in the water, if they float they can keep their guns.

Simple, you just listen to the women, who are apparently made uncomfortable by everything.

The red in "Red Flag Laws" refers to red communism; only a damn dirty commie would want the government to have that kind of power.

Mr. President: What gun control laws do you propose to REPEAL?

On the other hand, what happens when a schizophrenic doesn’t take his meds and spirals out of control

It’s not as easy as everyone things to lock someone up
https://www.tmz.com/2019/09/20/aaron-carter-family-help-plan-restraining-order/

btw, Carter supposedly has 500 gun collecton from his dad who was a cop. I think he gave up his two assault rifles

(not sure I believe he got all 500 guns)

Not all women.

I keep seeing pictures of women proudly holding a gun.

Women very much need guns for self defense against criminals.

I’m pretty sure that my belief that the 2nd Amendment mainly is geared toward the government getting out of control would red flag me.

Suspending constitutional rights, holding secret courts, denying the right to face your accusers, denying due process will only end in outright tyranny. Once the leftists get this, it will green light additional suspension of constitutional rights, more secret courts and star chambers.

Red flag laws will prove completely ineffective at eliminating the stated problem. Instead of ridding the country of this unconstitutional process, they will double down on denying constitutional rights. This lather, rinse, and repeat process continues until we are ultimately a police state (the leftists desired situation) or revolt which will likely also ruin the country for many generations and kill 100 million plus.

The old soviet union used a red flag law of sorts on their political enemies. They were determined to be mentally ill and then sent to Lubyanka prison for the insane. If they were stable when they went in, they soon went insane, thus justifying the sentence.

I wouldn’t put this past the current democrats.

I would opine that they have a more permanent solution in mind for us. Like a .22 in the back of the head or a bunch of 7.62s in the chest from a firing squad.

Yes, they do.

Every woman who wants a gun should have a gun, or multiple guns.

The complete and full exercise of the Second Amendment for every American citizen, if so desired, to carry a firearm anywhere and at anytime is the ONLY way to stop or at at least minimize the incidence of mass shootings. Tweaking the Constitutional rights of law abiding American citizens by denying them their God given and Constitutional right of self protection WILL only lead to the deaths of more innocent law abiding citizens. If you haven’t grasped this concept yet, CRIMINALS don’t give a damned about the law or other people’s lives! If Trump endorses the diminishment of the Second Amendment, it will be at the peril of his political career.

Might be. I think their ultimate goal is to disarm all the law abiding but leave the criminals and illegals alone to terrorize us. Like taking over the health care industry, they will have lots of power over us. They won’t succeed however because too many of us won’t comply.

Given that the Democrats excluded gang members, among others, from the Red Flag lists, it is pretty obvious this is just a tool against lawful gun owners.
