More than 300,000 people have flocked to climate change rallies in 110 towns and cities across Australia, calling for governments and businesses to act immediately.
The Global Strike 4 Climate, held across the world on Friday, was the biggest climate mobilisation in Australia's history, with more than double the turnout of the March protest.
A whopping 100,000 protesters flooded the streets in Melbourne, while Sydney saw 80,000 people march through the CBD to the Domain.
Protesters were demanding a target of net zero carbon emissions by 2030 and a transition to 100 per cent renewable energy.

Make the kids walk to school, and take away their electronic devices. We shall see how many are willing to go what it takes to “save” the planet.

Teaching and condoning this behavior is dangerous.
The simple logic played out in any child’s mind about the world ending in 11 years: No reason to study, no reason to get a job, skill or trade, might as well just stay wasted 24/7/365.
Why not just do these protests on a Saturday?
The media will still proclaim it to “courageous” and “historic.”
If a prog takes out two bags of trash to the garbage cans instead of just one it is “courageous” and “historic.”

When I was in high school, I walked a mile 4 times a day (I came home for lunch), and it was uphill both ways.
Most of what I just wrote is true.
At least 2 young people used the opportunity to attend daily Mass across from their High School.

Other kids joined protests because they didn’t want to be punished by those in power who want them to protest.
