A White House and Department of Justice proposal containing gun control ideas is now available for public consumption.
CNN White House correspondent Elaina Plott tweeted a copy of the document:
The document clearly shows the White House and DOJ adopting the structure of the Manchin-Toomey gun control bill as a guide: “Consistent with the Manchin-Toomey-draft legislation, a background check requirement would be extended to all commercial sales, including sales at gun shows.”
The document shows the Manchin-Toomey background checks–i.e., universal background checks–would include issuance of a “bill of sale” and the preservation of a “chain of title.” Sellers would have the option of preserving record of the sale or allowing a Federal Firearm License holder to record the sale.

So am I, but I'm also not afraid to accept the real Trump, as he really is. I knew going in, that he would occasionally act in ways that I don't like, need, or want.
I voted for him anyway, because I knew he'd get most of the big stuff right.

Well, aren’t they ‘special’. Hubbub in the smokey back room negotiating how best to further limit our right. He wants it, the Dems and Repubs want it. No mention the people want their natural rights respected and discuss the best method to ensure that happens. No discussion how best to eliminate unconstutional restrictions now in place. No no. Experience informs us the rank and file will follow through enforcing the lawful orders of their superiors. It is not their place to question those orders and failure to do so will result in their removal from office. This despite their oath to respect the Constitution of the U.S., their state and local laws and the rights of the citizenry.
An incident very much like the depiction occurred in Tucson due to a SWAT raid intended to acquire evidence only. During daylight. The man was killed. His wife and child terrorized. Taxpayers relieved of twenty million dollars.
Some would accuse us of being paranoid and that cannot happen here. Fools.

Certainly not voting for a gun grabber like trump. He has been surprisingly great on many things, but the second amendment matters to my children and their children.

But a friend who was senior officer on the force once told me that if an order came down to begin a gun round-up, the first sign would be fistfights and even gunfire at the local cop shop.
Of course, this IS the DEEP SOUTH & we’re a tad peculiar being deplorables ans all.
It ain't over yet. 04 July 2006 will be the 250th anniversary of 04 July 1776. I'm not yet so old and tired that I can't keep up the fight for another seven years.
When I was 18 years old, I gave my word that I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter. So help me God.
There was no expiration date on it. The exact wording of the oath changed over the years as I transitioned from a young enlisted tank gunner, to a Department of the Army Civilian, then transferred to the Navy, Took a renewed Oath as an officer, and finally, as a Dep't of Defence Civilian employee doing things a good and honorable officer shouldn't do, lest it set a bad example for his/her troops.
And if I have to go and stand by my word again in the next seven years, you ain't seen nothing yet...
