Just after securing the GOP presidential nomination in May 2016, Donald Trump landed in New Mexico and declared to a rally crowd, “We’re going to win this state.” Six months later, Hillary Clinton beat him there by eight percentage points.
But even as Democrats have increased power in New Mexico, President Trump is convinced he can compete. On Monday, he returns to the state for the first time since taking office to hold a re-election rally near Albuquerque.

Not very realistic, given the huge number of Hispanic immigrants who will have naturalized and be eligible to vote by the 2020 election. Note that in Texas, Abbott won re-election in 2018 by a smaller (13%) margin than his first election in 2014 (20%). Not all Hispanics vote Democrat, but a majority of them do, and that steady increase in their relative numbers means TX, and border states like NM, will become increasingly (D).

Trump needs to keep the Midwest. There is no path to electoral vote victory that runs through the border states he lost in 2016.

A lot of rural New Mexicans who vote D are getting pretty fed up with the state legislature and Governors really far left agenda. Trump may have a chance.

Cross Virginia off your list. It’s gone. Trump lost by 250,000 votes and the state gets more liberal every year. One out of four votes come from northern Virginia which is rabidly anti Trump. Trump got only about a third of the vote from Fairfax County...they hate him even more now.
A senate seat is what matters most there. No chance to ‘steal’ it. No one’s stepping up. I’d go with former Gov. Johnson if he ran as a Republican. This Libertarian stuff is vanity.
Nevada & New Mexico have become worse since 2016 demographically. Better to focus on what’s reasonably winnable.
Nevada is lost. Every is the only way to fight it.

If people in New Mexico decide that they want jobs, they’ll vote for President Trump. We’ll wait and see, though, what the President does or doesn’t do with gun control. If he does, all bets are off.
That won’t happen. Nevada is much closer than NM. GOP has picked up 13k votes net over the Ds since 2016 in NV, 9K in NM, but in NM the margin is still 90k and very few indies.
Trump won’t lose PA, MI, or WI. He should pick up NH and MN.
Don’t waste your time there Mr. President. Go to Minnesota, go to Maine. If you’re in the Southwest shore up Arizona.
The best thing we have going is all the terrible legislation the Dems pushed through earlier this year. Besides requiring a federal background check for private gun sales and requiring citizens in #3 oil and natural energy rich New Mexico to receive all their electricity by windmills, solar panels and unicorns before 2045, they revamped the voting laws to make it easier for everyone to vote.
They’re automatically registered with a driver’s license (have to opt out & illegals get licenses too), and I believe, but can’t remember for sure, that they approved election day on-site registration. And the Dems did voter harvesting last November so the the Pub candidate lost Cong. District 2 to the Dems the morning after she was declared the winner. Voter fraud is rampant with the Dems and, BTW, NM does not have photo ID, so absentee ballots can be filled out by anyone from a registered list and sent in. With the Dems controlling who counts the votes, how can they miss?
