Mass media perpetuates mass murder, critics claim, first by calling it shooting which is a sport, instead of murder which is a crime, deceptively framing the problem and displacing the blame. Then media promotes these crimes incessantly, sometimes for weeks, because theyre used to attract viewers, a euphemism for money. If it bleeds it leads, is the reprehensible unethical mantra and behavior.
By providing the oxygen of publicity, as Margaret Thatcher called it, media encourages copycats, which the murderers themselves tell us they seek. Doesnt that imply at least some measure of complicity or guilt? Psychiatrists and law enforcement beg the media to wise up, a cry that falls on deaf ears, thanks to the greed. It is virtually mens rea.
This is followed with panels that drone on about background checks, now in place for decades, which evidence repeatedly shows had no effect on the crimes but do impose hardships on innocent Americans who did nothing. Media staff are just coincidentally in lockstep with anti-gun-rights groups that seek more checks designed to overburden the innocent, increase government power (a common left-wing goal) and that provide zero focus on the psychotics, perpetuating the real problem, and psychotropic drugs exacerbating thingsespecially with school psychopaths.

Politicians are like Magicians. They need to have some trick to distract your attention while the real event takes place elsewhere. Gun control is the distraction for Democrats. Abortion is the distraction for the GOP.
Looked at carefully the JPFO observation has a lot of merit.
For some of the villains “Social Media” is also culpable (”Mah Manifesto”), the push to completely control our 1A will commence in earnest the day the 2A is repealed.
For a few of these vermin “Violent video games” MAY have been a factor, but hard to quantify.
Clearly anyone going nuts and shooting up the populace IS “Crazy”, but the weapons they use remain inanimate objects.
The bottom line is that there is no one “Cause” for these tragedies and so no one simple “Cure”.
What IS certain is that betraying the vast majority of gun owners constitutional rights is NOT the answer.
It needs to be repeated at EVERY opportunity that “Guns” are used to STOP crimes THOUSANDS of times more often than to commit them!
As horrific as these attacks on civilization are, they do not alter the ratio of defensive use of firearms to criminal be any perceptible amount.
They do help to create outrage that is artificial as demonstrated by the near silence on greater numbers of murders nearly any weekend in the “Inner Cities”.
It is also very apparent that so called “Gun free zones” are suicidal open killing fields.
Any facility disarming me should be on notice that they are now FULLY responsible for my COMPLETE safety.
In the current feculent political climate it has become incumbent on all sane Americans to ensure they have or obtain at least a couple of firearms the Gov. Org. has no knowledge of.
They need not be AR’s or AK’s, just reliable and something ammunition is available for.
Our 2A rights are not so easy to exterminate as the lefty lunatics would like to think.
Me? I’d be delighted if Trump came out for a 100% gun ban in movies and on TV. The screeching from Hollywood would be a sight to behold!
