The Quranic Concept of War - Joseph C. Myers; US Army War College
The universalism of Islam, in its all-embracing creed, is imposed on the believers as a continuous process of warfare, psychological and political, if not strictly military. . . . The Jihad, accordingly, may be stated as a doctrine of a permanent state of war, not continuous fighting. Majid Khadduri

Read it to get an idea of the enormity we are up against.
Is there a Cliff Notes version, or can you provide some salient points you think are important? Not many are going to read 100+ pages, I venture to predict.
The trigger for 9/11 was the Bush senior stupid Gulf War 1
There was no need for Gulf war 1
1. Saddam was a secular monster - he threatened the Shia Ayatollahs in Iran and kept them at bay
2. The Sunni jihadis hated him as well and conspired against him
3. He blackmailed the Kuwaitis, Saudis and Qataris to give him money - money that in his absence was used to fund madrassas to spread Wahabbi jihadiism
If no GW 1 then
1. No American troops dying in GW1
2. No billion$ spent on Iraq in 1990 - today
3. No American troops on Saudi soil - this was declared a trigger point by Osama bin Laden (that infidel soldiers were on the “holy soil” of Saudia)
4. No USS Cole, WTC attack - the jihadis would focus on their Arab secular foes like Saddam and Assad
5. No 9/11
6. No strengthened Iran - rather Saddam would use the money from the Sauds to fight the Iranians again and crush them, grabbing land in the south oil
7. No Islamic State
8. No Taliban in Afghanistan
9. No money for Pakistan to create their Islamic nuclear bomb
10. No millions of Christians killed across the middle east
11. No depletion of Christians in Iraq from 2 million to 200K
12. No destruction of Palmyra
13. No sex slavery of Yazidis.
9/11 was the outcome of the trigger that was Gulf War one
