It is hard to STAY on welfare here in NH. It is much easier to get on it in Mass. Therefore, the people that want to take advantage of the government handouts stay in Mass.
IF they want to work hard, open a business, get ahead, they eventually move to NH.

The Hispanics I have met in my daily travels here in NH are all hard working forks. They work in, or own restaurants. They do landscaping, roofing, concrete work, tiling, and generally hard manual labor jobs. They also work at fast food establishments.

At the ski areas like Bretton Woods they bring in workers from Brazil during the winter because they are in such a rural area. There is a shortage of seasonal workers in that area.

I am not sure about ME or VT.

Anything to Mark Steyn’s description of VT as a land of ski resorts surrounded by an opioid wasteland?
