Anything to Mark Steyn’s description of VT as a land of ski resorts surrounded by an opioid wasteland?

Not sure about VT.

However, NH has had a much higher opioid percentage than other places in the country. Mostly, because the north side of Boston was where the whole OXY craze started.

I personally know of three people including two I worked with here in Nashua that were addicted to OXY and shot heroin. One is now dead from a heroin overdose. All three were white and came from middle to upper middle class families. They all got into drugs in their teens or twenties.

However, this area(New England) has never had the Meth problem that is so big out west or in Appalachia.

One thing I will state is that a lot of the people involved in the sale and distribution of Heroin are heavily Hispanic. Whenever, you see arrests here in NH. They are all Hispanics from the city of Manchester or from the cities in Mass(Haverhill, Lawrence, Lowell, Fitchburg, Worchester, Springfield) These are where the drugs come through.
