Can't argue with this. Bolton really seemed out of place in this administration from the moment he was brought on board.
Heck -- I could never figure out why President Trump would hire a guy who would have been slated to get a top cabinet post in a JEB BUSH administration.
I believe it was Bolton who pushed to withdraw from the loony toon Iran agreement.
I can see the “team of rivals” approach to some degree, and how having a Bolton around to give you the neo-con perspective might be helpful. But it has to become tiresome to always find a key advisor always on the other side and basically telling you what not to do. That’s really not what advisors are for, I mean if it was then he’d be better off with George Conway than his wife.
Things were going real well with negotiating and building relationships with leaders around the world, until John Bolton got involved.
I think, Trump was struggling with firing Bolton for a long time, and word probably got to Bolton that he was going to get the axe. So, he decided to resign rather than to be let go.
Probably doesn’t make a lot of difference in other times, but dropping Bolton now sends a message that Trump is serious about negotiating. Bolton could have been a stumbling block with N. Kor and Iran etc.
